Why was “gender identity” slipped into the 2,700 page, one trillion dollar infrastructure bill?

That's what they do everywhere. They know their shit won't stand on their own so they hide it in other legislation.

Yes, this shit is a pretty common maneuver.

The fact that this is possible is an inherent failure in our government system. Along with modern lobbying and corporate "donations," I'd say this is treason

It's genuinely so bizarre to me. I feel like here it's almost the opposite, where laws won't pass because every little thing gets scrutinised, including how a law might get pushed through the houses or how it seeks to get implemented. So it's the wildest shit to me that in America it's basically the norm to slip things into a 2000 page bill and just shrug and say "Should have read it more carefully" when anyone calls you out on it

Christmas Tree bill. Everyone hangs their own little agenda on it like ornaments.

Ok thank god the provision only applies to the funds in the bill. Still, the bill is an atrocity of lies and any congressman that votes for it should resign in disgrace.

Do you know if there's a way to confirm that? I was hoping that would be the case.

The source the org cites has the bills language. At the very end of the clause it says this only applies to the programs in the bill.

Gotcha, thank you!!

Infrastructure?

Well, we can't do anything about the supply chain crisis, or the millions of illegal immigrants pouring across the border, or the crime wave, or high inflation, or record high drug overdoses...but at least now if you're stargender the government will force your employer and coworkers to use whatever ridiculous pronouns you can think of, so it's not all bad.

What makes you think they didn't do anything about all those issues?

You assume that their goals are your goals.

You assume that their goals are your goals.

True! What did they do about rising crime? Keep it rising. It feeds their agenda.

What did they do about inflation? Keep it going up. It makes neofeudalism happen faster.

What did they do about lethal drugs pouring in? Find a way to get more of them here faster! If your goal is to kill a certain demographic, it all makes sense.

We go wrong in thinking government bills are an attempt to fix problems for good instead of evil. Silly mortals.

Christ, and after I worked so hard on my letter to stop the Trans Privilege Equality Act, too... :(

But I suppose that's what happened-- thanks to people like me raising a stink, the Genderspeshul Act stalled out, so the TQ+ forces behind it slipped their poison in someplace else. Where it'd hopefully go unnoticed.

And tacked onto an INFRASTRUCTURE bill, of all things! What the hell??? These fuckin' people, I swear... it's as though they can't BEAR for anyone not to be thinking of them for a goddamn second! "As we repair this bridge that's about to collapse, let us take a moment to give thanks to our beloved Trans Overlords, working so tirelessly to steal our identities, hijack our spaces, and destroy the very concept of 'no means no'! ALL HAIL THE GLORIOUS GIRLDICK"

Wonder what they'd say to men who "identify" with the traditional male gender-role, meaning, above all, superiority to women? So transwomen would have to automatically shut up and make 'em a sammich? Gotta respect those all-important gender identities, after all!/s

Good catch. We'll certainly find out.

It might be limited to companies looking to win contracts for projects related to funding derived from this bill.

That's what I am hoping. Seems kind of bewildering that it might extend beyond that, but I thought I would check.

Even if so, it's still gender identity beliefs sneaking into government bodies and funding resources.

Can they even define what's "gender identity"? Or is it as impossible to define as "god"? Lol

[–]reluctant_commenter[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah it's just not defined anywhere... which is ridiculous. So much for the left being for separation of church and state. :/ How the hell did this happen?
