If the world was sane then pansexual would have been for people open to dating trans and bisexual for people who weren't. Unfortunately the world isn''t sane and they expect pansexual and bisexual to both date trans effectively making them the same thing.

"Pansexual" isn't a real orientation and if we concede that it is, we are also conceding that orientation is based on "gender" and not sex.

Yeah, my impression has always been that "pansexual" actually means "attracted to all genders" (whether the people using it understand this or not). In which case it's an entirely different thing than "bisexual", since that's a sexual orientation, and not a... genderual orientation (whatever the hell THAT is).

Maybe the best response to the "pan" label, then, is pointing out that its full form should correctly be "pangenderual", since it's (supposedly) based on attraction to "gender" rather than biological sex. Don't ask me how this works (spoiler: it doesn't)-- being turned on by the color pink, or someone's love of monster trucks, or cringe-tastic "personal pronouns", I guess? While remaining completely oblivious to primary or secondary sex characteristics? In any case, it's not something that those of us with a sexual orientation (such as bisexuals) can even understand, much less share. So leave us the hell out of it!

Just because these idiots have zero standards and will date any and everyone who throws them a bone of attention doesn't mean the rest of us have to eat garbage too 🙄 go be "open-minded" and have awkward hook-ups with each other and leave the rest of us "hateful bigots" ALONE!

Dumb and funny, really. Bisexual reproduction. It's in the name, hun.

I do feel like we spend a lot of time eavesdropping on similar inane teenage conversations to the ones we had with our friends in private. Hard to believe, I know, but I've said my share of mind-blowingly stupid things in my day. I refused to believe babies came from sex when my best friend told me in first grade. We argued it about repeatedly.
