The video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tMTI-D7DBQ

"Trans-identified" people are not directly involved in the video. A "cross-dresser" is involved. And it's the reactions he receives that are frustrating: "you look more like a girl than a girl is", "are you trans? Did you become a girl? Do you want to undergo surgery?".

The message this sends seems to be that "trans-identified" people are more tolerated in socially conservative countries (e.g. japan, china, korea, thailand, etc). Would there be such a positive reaction for an openly gay man? Wouldn't an openly gay man be asked problematic, homophobic questions? Gay marriage is illegal in korea and openly gay people face legal challenges. But in this video, korean people did not react as negatively to a potential* "trans-identified" man. They pushed him towards surgery.

This becomes more clear in dramas and movies. There are openly "trans-identified" characters in mainstream "kdramas" and "kmovies", and barely any openly gay characters that are as paid attention to.

See "Itaewon Class" and "Lady Daddy". "Itaewon Class" was the talk of the town and one of the highest rated dramas in ktelevision.

See "Come Back Mister" in which a man "arrives" in "afterlife" and returns to reconcile with his "wife" as a woman. The homophobic audience did not mind because "it's a man in a woman's body kissing a woman. It's not gay", and we know "a man in a woman's body" or "a woman in a man's body" comes from "trans-identified" people's claims that "a trans man is a man in a woman's body" or "a trans woman is a woman in a man's body".

*The "cross-dresser" may or may not undergo surgery. He is a potential "trans-identified" man for now.

It's been demonstrated over and over that historically third gender/trans was the gay loophole.

Exactly. "Third gender/trans" is homophobic and was historically used to target gay people. Gay men would be brainwashed to believe they are "not men", and gay women would be brainwashed to believe they are "not women".

It's their way of "transing the gay away".
