I don't follow UK politics anymore, so someone please fill me in. In the beginning, I thought Boris Johnson was what Americans would call a "liberal" -- like in the USA he would not be a Republican. He might be a "moderate Democrat." And then I heard him described as "Conservative," but I didn't think he was any Mrs. Thatcher, say.

Lately it seems his wife (didn't she just have a baby? Is she doing politics full time now instead?) is an AOC type. She's definitely NOT conservative.

Did the UK get a bait and switch with BoJo? Has he been moving steadily left/Woke?

I'm not from the UK but yeah I feel like they might have gotten a wolf in sheep's clothing with Bojo much like we in Canada got with O'toole(o'tool/o'fool). I didn't vote con in the last election nor did I vote NDP, or green or liberal. Voted PPC. Max and I have similar values. yup he's got two with the british AOC.

Yikes, I just looked up Erin O'Toole's pic and thought he was an old man. He's much younger than me!

I had to look up the PPC (as I'm American). I liked the platform points about firearms, anti-censorship, no alarmism on environmental issues -- protect the environment yes, but "we need a big tax and to allow only China to pollute" -- puh-lease!

Sounds like a lot of common sense, so I'm sure they'll be outright banned.

I liked the part about leaving the Un as well. Actually they did do pretty well this election they didn't get a rep to ottawa sadly but they did do well enough to remain as a party. You might disagree with me on the united nations but in my opinion sadly they're doing more harm then good these days. We do need a council where voices from other nations can go to have their concerns heard and assisted with but I don't think the un is the place anymore with how much over reach they have. As for PPC if they had gotten Pierre Pollivere they might had gotten farther but Pierre is blue to the end and he's the last true conservative in the party. They were even anti vaccine and mask mandates.
