Radical feminism doesn't own gender criticism. It's a huge part of their philosophy, but you don't have to subscribe to the radfem movement as a whole just because you share that one believe. There surely are lots of radfems here that are LGB or allies to LGB people, but radical feminism isn't the sole antithesis to gender ideology and you're in no way obliged to identify with it just because you don't believe in gender woo-woo. I surely am appalled by some of the homophobic voices and the weird theories about male and female homosexuality among some prominent radfems.

Dropping the T is OUR thing: sexual minorities pushing back against gender ideology, woke homophobia and the erasure of our terms, our history and our culture. It's not a branch of radical feminism, it's its own thing. An LGB thing. You don't have to feel aligned to radical feminism just because you're a gender critical lesbian :)

Lesbian doesn’t mean you have to be any sort of feminist. You have your own sense of where you are on issues, you don’t have to pick a team. The greater team is all those fighting against gender ideology, and they are all over the ideological spectrum.

Maybe read my post about how a TQ+ takeover destroyed a gay male community I was part of. It's happening more to lesbians than to gay men, but not only to lesbians.

And if radfems are trying to get other radfems fired from their university jobs . . . well, I guess that's a very long game to play.

so then don't align yourself with the radfems? it's okay to have one overlapping ideology with them. i find myself having this gender critical overlap with the conservatives. does not mean i, or anyone, has to become a conservative (unless you want to. then you do you).

Radical feminists are just another political group and ideology using and abusing minorities for their own gain. The fact that you can see beyond the facade is healthy in terms of crafting your own views and stance on the issue of trans ideology.

Radical feminism is no end-all, be-all authority around here, which is why this is a nicer place to discuss all of this. Dogma is a popular hiding place in radfem circles from what many of us report having seen. And yes, I think we can all agree that we don't have all the answers about some things, but the problem is that abusive people are trying to cram their answers down everyone else's throats, and in the case of TRAs that's actually true (unlike some religious fundamentalist claiming that even knowing that gay people exist infringes on their rights somehow), given that the changes they are trying to force are doing to harm other people.

So I see no need for you to feel guilty or some sense of loyalty to radical feminism about any of this. Quite a few of us don't align with their views enough to consider ourselves radical feminists. It's a Venn diagram and there's some overlap, but far from 100%.

So if I may offer you a different take, I don't see you wavering, just thinking for yourself like (most of) the rest of us here.

I am gender critical, i am absolutely not radfem. They are not the same thing.

There are wonderful women in the radfem groups but there are also some who are very extremist and awful people. I find radfem theory something that is interesting but a magnet for more extremist or black/white thinkers and that is just not my jam i am a only shades of grey or centrist type of person

I agree. Radical feminism has many homophobic elements. We need an LGB-only movement, but it seems like those tend to be co-opted by them lately.
