From another post by the same person:

So like...I dunno if my imagination just sucks or whatever, but I'm having a really hard time picturing myself "as a guy" or in a male body, if you will.

Like I've tried to make comparisons to my dad and brother, but I look like a carbon copy of my mom so I'm at a loss. I look in the mirror and try really hard to picture myself with a cut jawline and facial hair, and I deepen my voice as much as I can to try and get a feel for what it'll sound like, and even with binding it's hard to ignore the very obvious extra weight in my chest area that shouldn't be there. So I just end up feeling defeated because no matter how much I exercise my imagination, I feel like I just can't get an accurate or even remotely close idea of my true male form. My current body is not a man's, but it's the only one I've known all my life so I hate that my whole life up to now I've had no idea what it's like to be in a man's body. Probably why I find it so hard to imagine what it's like to be in one because I just have no experience to compare it to.

Reading things like this, I think "Life is hard enough as it is without trying to be something you aren't."

It’s almost as if deep down she knows it’s a pointless endeavour. She’d be a lot happier if she just changed her attitude.

This smells like a future suicide after she realises all of the hormones in the world won't make her happy or change who she really is.

Sadly, that's exactly what happened to a woman I was friends with in graduate school. She transitioned during the program, but several years later, she told me that transition hadn't solved the problems she'd hoped it would solve. She eventually committed suicide. That's a big part of why I feel bad for these people. We may laugh at the absurdity of it, but it's a tragedy in progress.

Yes. I'm currently keeping a quiet eye on a twentysomething friend who realized she was a lesbian when she was a teenager. She's now FTM, it appears. We are not in close contact but I'm hoping she had some guidance and followed a supervised process. I suspect not, though.

Which is why I hope she changes her mind and embraces her womanhood before it’s too late.
