I'm dreading going to work tomorrow, because the owner of our company (who is completely out of touch with how day-to-day operations work) insists on launching new software that isn't ready to be live.

There are way too many bugs and inefficiencies that me and the rest of the team have brought up. We're the ones who have to use it all day everyday, but no problem, we can just write everything down on paper and re-enter the data once the software does finally work properly.

WE MUST DO THIS IMMEDIATELY! The fate of the company hinges on this, apparently. Or at least it does in his mind.

My reaction

Oh my god, that's so frustrating. I'm sorry you're in that position. I've had that happen before. The most infuriating part is trying to explain why it matters, having it fall on deaf ears, then having the bug come back up several weeks or months later... It's like, you know I tried to warn you, remember that conversation?
