I am Greek. The island is called Λέσβος. And because the term lesbian has been used to denote female homosexuality,they no longer refer to themselves as lesbians (λέσβιοι,λέσβιες) or even say I come from Λέσβος.They usually say I come from Mytilene (the islands capital city).
