they intentionally mix them up because HSTS are less than 5% of their entire community. They use them to elicit sympathy from heteros.

I will say, it's an understandable mistake for straight people to make. It used to be true that homosexual transsexual (HSTS) men made up a large proportion of transgender people. But a lot has changed in the last 10 years. A lot. And information about that change, the change in demographics among transgender people, is being actively censored from the media, which is beyond messed up.

Heterosexuals made of the majority of transexuality in the 70's. They were 72% of transitioners (which i found shocking). And this was in the 70's. So imagine what the percentage is now. 5% seems way too high for HSTS now.
