Instead, immediately after coming out he shifted into being a hypersexual pervert whose last two music videos were about how gay men are the devil and how gay men like having gay prison sex.

He's just cashing in on what's profitable for on niche that he was thrown in by the media after he came out.

Unfortunately, it's still hard for gays and lesbians to make content for general audiences, because they'll always end up being marketed as 'queer creators' and not 'creators who happen to be gay/lesbian'.

Not only this shit ends up limiting their reach, but also the themes and tone of their content.

Now I know why so many GLB celebrities and athletes don’t come out until they retire or have been well established publicly. It’s not the fear of a possible homophobic backlash that keeps the, in the closet. They don’t want to be put into a box while their public images are still in development. They fear that they won’t get a say in how they are marketed, because we all know how the media convinces normies how they want gay people to be portrayed.

Seriously? He just outlined a really good reason for why it would NOT be ridiculous for LGB celebrities to not want to come out, unrelated to the overt homophobia. I mean I think the homophobia is a big reason, and you could even argue that *avoiding being put in a box as "just another gay celebrity" is itself just a subset of the homophobia you're talking about, a less obvious type of homophobia. But that doesn't mean it's ridiculous to consider. Image cultivation is a big concern for all celebrities regardless of sexual orientation...
