Sooo does that mean we've finally dropped the LGB from the T?! Can lesbians, gay men and bisexuals be left alone to live our boring same-sex attracted lives now 🙏🏾

It's way easier to just steal something that's already been made and tweak it.

Just look at literally every "reboot" movie that's objectively worse in every way. However, just shoehorn in some black people for no reason whatsoever and call it a "brave reimagining".

Black people could totally just make their own shit, but we all know they won't.

There is something to be said about racial tokenism but the way you write this does sound very racist.

Black people do in fact make their own shit and they don't necessarily need to if we have racial equity where the best actors get put in the part.

I try to choose my words carefully and I wrote it that way on purpose, because that's exactly what this media push looks like from the perspective of an outsider. It looks like the sort of thing that liberals convince themselves of so they can feel better about shitting all over blacks AGAIN.

It makes blacks look unoriginal and uncreative when the only roles you see them in are roles written for white actors 20 years ago.

And jamming black people into historic roles such as Joan of Arc is a complete slap in the face. It's divisive on purpose and it ultimately doesn't help the black community. It just makes guilty whites and jews feel better.

And please don't bust my balls about da jooz. Everyone knows and openly acknowledges that jews are a driving force in Hollywood.

You mean racial equality not equity. Equity is equal outcome, equality is equal opportunity. In an equal system the best actor gets the job. In am equity system actors get parts because of race.

True. I'm so used to hearing "equity" everywhere now and it does usually make sense but not for acting.

It makes sense for most political issues like talking about red-lining etc but I chose an example specifically where it doesn't make sense lol ...

It doesnt make sense to me anywhere. It's just racism disguised in woke speak.

To clarify. I

In certain cases the system fucked over blacks so badly it ripples through generations but to be clear I do think the best solutions are universal.

The performatively woke crowd wants to support poor blacks because they are black and that's fake leftism. The reason I would temporarily go along with those policies is because their community is so outrageously set back by historical institutional racism. It's basically solving a real problem for the wrong reason.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It doesnt solve anything. The solution is long term fixing of the community. Not instant gratification. This isnt a negation of the wrongs brought onto blacks in this country. The solution to racism is never, ever, more racism.

They could never make their own thing. They hate each other as much as they hate us and themselves. And for good reason.
