Of all the things that ever happened, that happened the most.

Well, clearly, the only reason anyone disagrees with TRAs is because we’re hateful, lonely losers. It has nothing to do with not appreciating homophobic and misogynistic bullying while also being asked to ignore reality.

TL;DR

"I'm sorry for the things I did. You know, the things; they totally happened. Very bad, so sad, all hurtful. So sorry. Grovel, Grovel, grovel."

Reading her post history... I call bullshit.

Actual Response. Fun fact: I grew up in a fundamentalist Christian home. I don’t mean my family went to church a lot and said grace before dinner. More like, my mom ignored an actual medical condition for 13 years because she was convinced God would heal her. That type of fundamentalist. (Mercifully, my parents have spent the last several years mellowing out to be relatively normal Christians.)

There were three main rules I was supposed to follow for everyone to be happy in this environment.

  1. Don’t question any of the logical gaps or morality with with you’re presented. Just follow us.

  2. Ignore the reality you can see with your own eyes and deduce from your own reason.

  3. Completely ignore your sexual orientation and pretend to be heterosexual.

Needless to say, I failed spectacularly on all three accounts. When I was confronted about this as a teenager, it was framed as me being hateful and selfish because I wasn’t opening my heart for God’s love and I was choosing to hurt God, my family, and our church community by choosing to be a lesbian. Being cast as the villain by everyone around me fucked with my head for years and resulted in subsequent years of self-loathing and self-destructive behavior.

So, forgive me if I’m not tripping over myself to feel guilty for people with the same rules, expectations, and punishments as my parents’ church.

I’ve thought about what I would tell my teenage self if I could travel back in time. My response to this post happens to be the same: This has nothing to do with truth, honor, community, or respect. It certainly has nothing to do with love. It is only someone demanding you bend yourself until you break to make others feel more comfortable. You aren’t selfish. You aren’t crazy for seeing through this. You aren’t the villain here.

She's very young woman. I pity american lesbians, especially the ones on the younger side. Although dating as lesbian is harder anywhere, in USA with the queers and AGP being so powerful, sexist gender roles, top/bottom bullshit and obesity crisis, it seems like hell. Like if I lived in USA I would have already bought a ticket to Europe. Stay strong, my sisters!

Come va l'apprendimento dell'italiano, comunque? :)

Prima, l’ho trovato molto difficile. Adesso, capito migliore.

You know, I've never quite realised how similar our languages are until I read this and understood almost everything with zero knowledge of Italian lol

They're similar. I watch spanish series and understand it without never learned spanish language before. But you got the sexier accent. I'm jealous lol

I know isn't easy, damn it really that culture is so toxic, it feels like anyone would do anything to escape it, like the people from Africa who do anything to escape their country and reach Lampedusa. Of course USA isn't comparable to a third world country, but has so much bad and stressful things in its culture, especially now with this AGP trend, makes me really being grateful to have been born in Italy. I wouldnt have the mental resilience to deal with it. I feel like you're some kind of heroes

Not to mention the lack of gendered definite (and indefinite) articles/words/verbs in the English language makes it easier to hijack and change, whereas in something like Serbian, everything is gendered to the point that some tenses would sound bizarre if you had a man saying he was wearing something but using the female past tense for third person: On je nosio vs On je nosila (it's usually 'ona je nosila' for women). Not sure if it's the case in Italian?

TERFs are the ultimate boogeywoman to these people. Most “TERFs” don’t hate trans people, we just don’t want them in our shit (groups/communities, shelters, bathrooms, change rooms, jails, etc.). Acknowledging material reality is not hate unless you’re emotionally and mentally unwell and hypersensitive. But sure, go on and continue to bash women for not patting you on the head and giving you a gold star uwu
