Is the lgbtq community nuts over there too?

yeah, Spain is very progressive, much more than Italy, and this is why gender ideology is very strong there.

I don’t know a ton about Spain. Did they have a big pendulum swing after Franco’s regime ended in the 70s?

[–]Elvira95Viva la figa[S] 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Probably, yeah. Franco pushed religion so hard they went full left.

Ah, that makes sense. God, this is why extremes on both ends are awful.

They did. Spain is now one of the most woke countries on the planet.

That's disappointing. I always thought of Wokeness as an Anglo-American phenomenon.

The ironic thing is that California, the epicenter of the Queer Theory madness (Hello, Judith Butler!) is roiling after the Wi Spa incident protest. So, while Europe adopts California bullshit, California itself might have to roll back the Gender Cult.

The 1st Wi Spa woman is now working with a DC-based, conservative Christian organization in an attempt to gather all sane & moral people to force politicians to repeal laws that allow men to self-identify as women and access women and childrens' spaces.

cubanaangel.com

It's such a shame that it took so long for ordinary people to wake up to how the laws pushing gender ideology affect their own lives. Now the plague has spread to Europe...

nice that things are improving, maybe in future this ideology will only be an old thought

[–]BEB 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't think they're improving, I just think that the chickens have come home to roost.

I think that there have probably been other incidents in California like the Wi Spa incident, but women were too scared or too indoctrinated to call out the bullshit. But once this proud, brave woman called out that the Emperor (literally) had no clothes, it enabled others to see that the real-life effects of gender identity policies are far from benign.

They need to detach this from religion or it's going to get stuck.

[–]BEB 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I would normally agree, but gender ideology is the Democrats' new religion, so maybe some good ol' Bible thumping is what's needed to rouse rank-and-file Americans into fighting this madness.

I feel this too. I do not want to be linked to the Church or whatever but the Woke Cult forces all of us to comply and has legal force now. Christianity has 2,000 years of weight behind it. In theory, Christianity can crush Trans Insanity easily. Christian people will "pray for you." The Woke want you dead.

And whereas few politicians will listen to women, many will listen to Christian organizations. I'd rather be surrounded by men who can't understand why I didn't marry a man and have children rather than by men who can't understand what's wrong with penises in the women's changing room.

Pretty sad we've reached this point.

Oh god, I hope so! Do you really think that might've been a wake-up for some people?

I only hope that LGB people aren't used as the scapegoat for all this... please understand the difference between the T movement and the LGB, country.

The Wi Spa incident in LA was noted way past US borders. On other social media, I saw some California GC feminists were trying to formulate a plan to get California's policies on self-ID repealed.

There's also the woman who filmed the Wi Spa incident. She seems to be getting support from some Christian communities, including a Korean pastor (from what I've seen, the Korean Christians in So Cal have a large presence) and she plans to take the fight up with California politicians.

What the fucking, smarmy morons in the California state legislature don't seem to get is that there's a lot of conservatives in California, especially in immigrant communities, who don't vote.

The issue of any and every man, or any and every group of men, being allowed into women & childrens' spaces is one way to get them out to the polls, but not in the way the corruptos who make up the California Democratic party want.

I would say it's not even just California, many people in majority-liberal US states who I have met seem to think that everyone in their state is liberal... the rural/city divide is a real thing. I'm liberal myself, but I'm dismayed at how many of my acquaintances seem to have done no critical thinking about the trans rights movement. And many people I've talked to about it keep quiet out of fear of retaliation from people who are more "woke."

Also that's good to know the event had a wide impact. I worry that the whole event will get framed as religious right vs. trans movement.

But LGB are totally getting the blame. I've been reading through some Christian forums that touch on this, and they all lump LGBT together. They all think T are gay. I keep telling people T are NOT gay. Gay happens in nature. T happens on the internet.

[–]reluctant_commenter 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Christians were already against us anyway. I am most worried about the people who are tolerant of gay rights but are starting to question their support for the "LGBTQ+" community and may blame the actions of people in the trans rights movement on LGB people.

It already has infested Europe. In nine countries you can legally declare yourself trans simply by filling out a form. Those nine countries are Denmark (2014), Malta (2015), Ireland (2015), Norway (2016), Greece (2017), Belgium (2018), Portugal (2018), Luxembourg (2018) and Iceland (2020).

The silver lining is that this stupidity is confined to Western Europe, while Eastern European countries are pushing back against this bullshit. Also, even some Western European countries like the UK are beginning to question trans ideology.

[–]BEB 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

The Eastern European countries are a great example of what happens when TQ+ madness gets conflated with LGB. I'm willing to bet that if TQ+ demands hadn't been so outrageous, even Eastern European countries would have eventually come around to LGB rights.

I think so too. But the sad thing is, LGB organisations and supporters in Eastern Europe are too spineless and chicken shit to tell the TQ activists to go away. And then they wonder why nothing is getting done?

I feel that the US is responsible for so much of this Genderology BS and hang my head in shame (even though I had nothing to do with any of it...SIGH...)

The US might have been responsible for starting this madness, but European countries are responsible for blindly going along with it. If A expresses an idea that is obviously moronic and B decides to implement it, I’m angrier at B. So in essence, I despise European liberals and Marxists more than their American counterparts for going along with this dumb bullshit. And the irony is that these same European liberals and Marxists hate America and whine about America imposing American values on Europe, when it’s European liberals and Marxists who are doing it.

[–]BEB 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

One of the inexplicable things about European and other countries following the US off the gender cliff is that some of these countries do not have a big pharmaceutical lobby so why are they destroying a huge % of their own kids' lives with this crap?

In the US, Big Pharma is an extremely powerful lobby. I read that the Democrats especially are indebted to Big Pharma, but I have not verified that claim myself.

I’m not so sure why European and other western countries are so gendercucked, but I have some theories. America is the largest and most powerful western country, and speaks the third most widely used mother tongue - English. Because of it’s dominance, so many western countries look towards America and English is the most widely spoken second language. So American tv shows, movies and music are incredibly popular.

The Cold War was another factor. During that time, Europe torn in two. There was the communist eastern half that was dominated by Russia, and the capitalist western half that was influenced by America. America even had troops in West Germany until after the wall came down. This enabled America to implement their influence on the western world. Furthermore, America was the least affected country by WWII that wasn’t neutral during the war, so America could develop technology and influence faster than other countries. The end result is that most the western internet comes from America, so Silicon Valley has a lot of global influence. Also, Rupert Murdoch.

The Cold War is over, and Russia is no longer a military threat. Too bad, because America needs all these western countries dependent on it. So America has been provoking Russia in order to keep the Cold War alive, and scare Western European countries into submitting to American hegemony. With all these factors in mind, Europeans end up mimicking whatever America does, and now we have this gender ideology spreading throughout Europe.

THIS! Every European who embraces American films, fast food, and fashions yet hates on America has now imported the WORST thing ever and embraced it with open arms. And it's NOT an American thing. It's a Martin Rothblatt, James Pritzker, Jon Stryker, and now Joe Biden thing. NOT an American thing. It belongs to a handful of sick men (haha, and Chase Strangio.)

There’s a lot to like about America. Self-reliance, hard work, making it big, standing up to authoritarians, love of country and community, all these aspects absent in American cities and suburbs but present in American small towns and rural areas. Europeans instead adopt the bad stuff, like fast food, convenience, celebrity worship culture, being rude towards the elderly, shouting over opponents and drug use. Those Europeans didn’t have to do it, but they did, and they act like they’re better than America. And then they wonder why Western Europe will one day collapse.

Ireland is one of the worst affected by this, because we are an English speaking country that is geographically isolated from the rest of Europe. So many Irish people talk shit about America while eating McDonald’s, drinking Starbucks, typing on their iPhones, wearing American sportswear and watching Hollywood blockbusters. And then we blame America for Irish culture fading. This is why the Irish language has not been revived.

Sadly, Portugal has a Self-ID as well. But the Portuguese are definitely no where near as crazy as the Spanish.

[–]Destresse🇨🇵 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

What do you call "self-ID" exactly? In France the only condition to change your sex on your papers is to "socially live as the opposite sex" and prove it to the court with testimonies and stuff. Would this count as self-ID?

[–]our_team_is_winning 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

"socially live as the opposite sex"

Seriously what does that even mean? That means there is an identifiable way the "opposite sex" lives. Do they have a list?

Tell me, HOW does a woman live socially? I'm sure I don't fit half the shit on their checklist (which I'll bet they don't even have.) TMI coming: I have my period just now. I'm living PHYSICALLY as female. I'm not wearing makeup, I'm dressed in a t-shirt, and I've been looking up pictures of old cars online. Not sure I'm "socially living" as a woman here.

Woman is NOT a social behavior!!!!

Self ID means a man legally becomes a women just by filling out a form, or a woman legally becomes a man just by filling out a form.

It seems like there's something weird about the Spanish language that primes people to go full braindead on QT+ bullshit. Or Spanish speaking people who are in English speaking countries or the English based QT narratives.

Central and southern America, southern California... Then you have the weirdness in the Philippines.

There's also the heavy religious influence which heavily emphasizes gender.

[–]PenseePansyBio-Sex or Bust 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Then you have the weirdness in the Philippines.

Would you mind filling me in on this? American here, and am currently corresponding with a 21-year-old self-described "pan trans man" in the Philippines. She's quite a lovely person, but seems to have bought into all the genderology-brainwashing: rejects being female, envies male bodies and is convinced that she needs to have one (wants to "transition" ASAP), says she's attracted to "gender" above all and doesn't even care about anyone's sex, etc. Is this representative of what's happening in that country?

[–]RedEyedWarriorGay | Male | 🇮🇪 Irish 🇮🇪 | Antineoliberal | Cocks are Compulsory 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That law is worse than the Irish version. In Ireland, you still have to be over 16 to transition, and even then, you will need consent from your parents and a psychiatrist before they’ll let you transition until you’re 18. Obviously still bad, but there is a degree to how bad a government can be.

Spain recently rejected self-ID, so its extra disappointing they're allowing this.
