I'm thinking a specific class including Christian Grey and vampires, for instance. Not K-pop.

How would you link Christian Grey and vampires?

Dangerous bad boys that can be tamed through love.

So what's your working hypothesis?

I got nothing. Just an observation of popular themes for erotic material.

I always wonder to myself what Blanchard would have come up with if he was 40 years younger and had started his research within the last 10 years. I also wonder what he would have come up with if he were a woman. I also don't have much. I question whether women getting into certain erotic tropes is the same mechanism as a guy having a fetish for high heels or something. Tell me if you get anywhere though.

The mechanism is conditioning through orgasm, so it is the same. It's just the experiences that are different. For example, a guy will be exposed to lots of porn (targeted towards men) with women in high heels, and a gal will be exposed to lots of erotica with the tropes we've observed.
