Yeah, there are plenty of communities overseas still pretty hostile to LGB interests but because they're not easy targets they never get focused on. It's the same thing with Islam; point out that Islamic cultures in the middle east still kill LGB people or use transgender surgeries to "cure" LGB people and woke people will scream "Islamophobia". It's insane how people are only willing to virtue signal about how enlightened they are when the object of their criticism is relatively safe for them to critique in terms of them not being subject to retaliation. Trans activism focuses on first-world injustices and pretends that the world is now a utopia for LGB people and how dare gay men and lesbian women try to campaign with an exclusive focus on issues that affect them.

This most likely privileged second-gen immigrant probably has her head so deep into college-style progressiveness she even aware of any of the attitudes in non-Western countries enough to even care about what happens. This is why woke distractions like "queerness" are exclusively a phenomenon of the most developed (usually white majority) countries. Ain't nobody got time or money for that anywhere else.

Voting in my country is pointless. The system is set up to prevent proper opposition parties from winning a seat in our parliament. Civil disobedience seems to be the only way to bring change to this country right now.
