Simple: intersectionality is to blame.

Wokies see gay and lesbian rights movements as part of a greater effort to end opression, which doesn't only include issues of sexual orientation, but absolutely everything related to opression.

So, in this perspective, gay rights movements have not only to care about issues related to sexual orientation, but also ones related to racism, and yes, transgender rights. Also, just to keep clear, these issues don't have to be even tangentially related to sexual orientation for this principle to be applicable, aka issues related to black gay men, for instance.

The problem is that this don't account for conflicts of interest between social issues, in a way similar to the inclusion of letters to the LGB acronym.

Actually, that's what it was originally intended for. It's the intersection of being gay (x axis) and being black (y axis), or other intersections such as Native women. The whole concept doesn't need to be thrown out because it does make sense, TRAs just use it in a nonsensical manner. It's how they justify watering down movements with unrelated B.S.

Eg. the Islamic shilling being pushed by some 'LGBTQ+' activists.

The fact that Islamic societies use trans surgeries and "reassignment" as a cure for people who are gay should be a dead giveaway that trans activists are on the wrong side of history.
