i think that sub is a great example of what one of the twitter users said: a lot of AGPs aren't transwomen, but most (hetero) transwomen are AGPs. so it's more than possible to live with this paraphilia without being a narcissistic transbian.

Yeah for the most part. I would argue I have some aspects of what is considered "AGP" but it's not really something that took over my sexual identity. It's just an occasional fancy. It was just a way to cope with being bi partially when I was growing up. I only pictured myself with men so a bit different from what is often attributed to AGPs. I guess I just felt it wasn't as big of deal if it was a "straight fantasy". Outside of that it was just a way to escape. I think for a lot of guys/girls into those hobbies that's a primary reason for it because you basically create a new alter ego completely unlike yourself.

I like being a guy and I was always confused why so often people who had some of these feelings thought they were trans because despite having those feelings I never once considered myself anything else but a guy with a few strange backroom interests. After looking in these communities and it's true of trans men too a lot of it is just coming from idealizing fem or masculine archetypes and either going too far with a fetish or a sense of insecurity in the role they were born in. You aren't going to make that better by messing with your hormones and chopping off body parts especially if that is the reason you think you are trans.
