Yeah, I guess there is a lot of tutoring that has to be done in a group with varying levels of experience. I'm somewhat new to the game so it's still a novelty, though I can see how teaching the same things over and over and needing to continually resurrect less skilled players for your own survival can get old fast.

Dusk quickly turned to night, and I couldn't find resources for a torch, so I survived by jumping between fireflies. As dawn came, I said "thank god for fireflies!"

Oh, that's where you got your username from! And the tumbleweeds they used to drop from, of course.

Glad to hear how you stayed alive and thrived that particular time. It's interesting how gamers can make an outgroup out of newbies who they don't even give the time of day until they have proven themselves through a 'Trial By Fire' like that. I suppose it's an easy way to keep liabilities out of a survival team, but I usually fail that first test in most games. Being a kind of casual, lone-wolf who doesn't really want to talk to anyone anyway doesn't help with the eventual vote kick lol

I have vague memories of playing the hell out of a sim hospital game on Playstation, if that rings any bells.

Theme hospital? I have that on GOG, though I never played it. I heard it's addictive.

I'll never get through playing my own backlog, so I mostly just concentrate on my favorites. Long ago, there was lots of time, but not enough games to fill it. Now, there's lots of games, but not enough time to try out, much less complete them. Anyway, imma take C:S for a run today and maybe it'll end up in the regular rotation. Thanks for the suggestion.

🤗

I don't judge anyone who uses console commands after gathering all of them naturally. Removing them from the loot pool was such a loss :(

Ahhh yes, vote kick, I forgot about that. Another way griefers can ruin the experience for people. I eventually stopped playing on dedicated servers at all because of griefers. There was a group of players who followed a well-known Twitch streamer back in the day, and they all made it their mission to ruin dedicated servers as often as possible, even Klei official servers. It was really frustrating, for new players and old-timers, and left a lot of people with a sour view on the game. I went on an internet hunt and managed to get many of their Klei or Steam IDs, and blacklisted them from any public servers I made.

Theme hospital?

That was it! I still remember sick sims vomiting in corners or planters over and over, and frantically trying to hire janitors. I really liked how there were level progressions, making it harder and harder the longer you played.

Even without DLC, I think it's a great game. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, and are inspired to keep growing with it and the extra content!
