There are bigger issues here than a bunch of regular people who have lives offline can rectify.

We need shelter on a website that can't be taken offline by its bank, server host, Cloudflare, professional trolls, lobbying groups, threats to the site owner or their family, politicians, etc.

The only people I can think who have that type of ironclad site hosting aren't anybody DroptheT wants to associate with, and we probably would be declined a sub on their platform regardless for political reasons. I'm talking about .win obviously.

Exactly.

Believe me, we've thought about it too ... the alternatives that exist would reflect negatively on us and our goals, if we were even allowed to be there at all. We're already called nazi sympathizers and puppets/socks of the alt-right. Do we really want to cement that opinion?

Also, sidenote about .win ... it's my understanding that we would still be required to host our own instance of a .win community. And then if the creator of https://communities.win were so inclined, we could be added to their sidebar roster, but no one has been added there for quite some time. I think IP2 or maybe KiA2 were the last ones added, and that was 10 months ago or so.

I'm not sure how it works. I know the mods created a Wall Street Bets clone when they were briefly banned from Reddit. That would have been March.

They don't have a FAQ section or a published guide of any kind, I skimmed their Meta sub briefly and it looks like the system you described is accurate. They complain about individual subs being down and also about individual sub owners. There seem to be a few toxic subs that cause trouble with each other and the rest of the site minds its own.

U/doggos is the main developer, iirc.
