Why is sex work such a common battle ground for these people? Sex work is not good, stop fighting for it.

I suppose because it would be the ultimate validation to have someone wanking off to you play-acting as a gay man in porn. But... oh, no... how can you be SURE he's not a straight or bisexual man and not a raging gold star faggot????

Totally agree, it's a really sick society that treats getting more people into pornography and prostitution as some kind of goal to fight for. I really can't stand this gross euphemism of "sex work" either, as if people being forced into the most degrading conditions possible is comparable to working an office job or something. No shock either that there's a huge overlap between trans activists and these people - I wonder if there's a connection trans people have with porn sick weirdos?

Not attracted to trans people: transphobia

Attracted to trans people: fetishisation

Always gotta be the victim.

There's a kind of disembodied way that people talk about trans guys, where the focus is on our genitals. I get a lot of guys saying things like ‘I'd fuck that hole, pussy, et cetera.’

You're in sex work and people talk about your genitals!? Insanity

indifferent: denying existence

[–][deleted] 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don’t get why she’s complaining about this, men say these things to female and male sex workers/porn stars alike. Dont men get told “id fuck that hole” by other men all the time? Dont women get told “I’d fuck that pussy” by men all the time? Everyone’s getting disembodied down to their genitals, you’re not special. That’s the nature of being in sex work/porn. But noooo I’m special because I’m trans uwu

Her actual profession appears to be "victim."

Before he began escorting and acting in porn, he completed a master’s degree in gender studies at New York University, then started working as a journalist.

Everything I need to know about her is contained in this one sentence.

[–][deleted] 20 insightful - 3 fun20 insightful - 2 fun21 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

Consider this: she really had a master’s degree, a job as a journalist, then decided to give that up to go be a porn star and sex worker for men who are by default going to fetishize her because fetishization and objectification is the entire point of porn and sex work in the first place. Straight and bisexual men regarding females as slabs of vagina meat, particularly in porn and sex work, is nothing new. What outcome was she expecting? I’m serious

[–]PatsyStoneMaverique 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

She essentially has a Master's in misogyny, I'd like to know who she wrote for when she was a journalist. I'm not surprised she left the industry- even this year thousands of journalists have been laid off. What surprises me is her go-to was this.

[–]Tikiri 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I thought, according to the article, she took up sex work when she couldn’t make it as a journalist? Which sounded to me like she was maybe forced into it, just to pay the bills. Which would be really sad, but also shows how people who fall through the cracks of the “woke” career world are just screwed. Maybe she thought that, as a genderspecial, she’d have a lot of success in journalism (as so many do), but then that didn’t work out and now what else can she do, especially with a “Gender Studies” degree?

was gonna say this lol...And a Masters degree in it too.

So let me get this straight. Cis gay men are constantly making it difficult for trans men in the industry because they’re constantly talking about how much they hate vaginas and discriminating against vaginas or whatever. But at the same time, cis gay men fetishize trans men’s vaginas? This can’t both simultaneously be true. How do you even know the sexual orientations of the people jerking off to your videos in the first place? This makes zero sense.

[–]pacsatonifil 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

If it’s in a gay specific site then it’s gay men. Though it could also be straight women. I hear a good chunk of women watch gay porn. Maybe it’s not just cis gay men lmao

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

people of basically every sexual orientation watch gay porn, male and female alike. there are self-proclaimed straight men who love gay porn. so, did she mind-read through cyberspace to discern both the sex and sexual orientation of her viewers? pls

[–]Midcentury 19 insightful - 1 fun19 insightful - 0 fun20 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I don't believe for one single second that there are "cis gay men" interested in this this persons vagina. You can go and see this persons delusions on their Pornhub page. This is for fetishists pure and simple....so I guess Trixx is right in that respect.

[–][deleted] 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

If you don’t want to be fetishized why are you making porn and doing sex work that relies on playing yourself up as a fetish object for straight and bisexual men. Female-attracted men browsing porn sites are going to look at a woman with a beard and flat chest and see an exotic creature that they can wank off to. This isn’t rocket science.

[–]PatsyStoneMaverique 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It is if your religion dictates that women aren't people and you identify as a person.

Anyone else pick up on the harassment that transmen are getting from transwomen? Funny, that.

[–]pacsatonifil 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

“many users believe that no matter how much testosterone a performer takes, no matter how hairy his chest nor how prominent his beard, he shouldn’t be in gay porn if he has a vagina.”

It’s as if we aren’t attracted to anyone of those. We are attracted to the whole man. I don’t want to see vaginas. I already hear about straight sec, straight romances, straight relationships everywhere. If I want to watch porn I don’t have tolerance for straight nonsense there.

Edit: looked this person up and I only see PIV sex. So why aren’t they sleeping with trans men?

“They're like, ‘Oh, well, you don't care about the girls,’ to which we respond: Here's a link of seven specific funds for trans women only. This one — this one over here — this is for us,” Lashun says."

Trixx, your matrixx is way too complex for my pea sized micro penis formerly known as umpalumpa. I shall dare not even click upon zer link as a undercover demibisencoresexually gay transcis woMAN.

“ Indeed, as with many debates over the humanity of trans people, genitals have become a battleground. In some (often toxic) online forums, many users believe that no matter how much testosterone a performer takes, no matter how hairy his chest nor how prominent his beard, he shouldn’t be in gay porn if he has a vagina.

“There is desperate need for cis gay men to hold on to the dignity that they have fought so hard for,” says Shaan Lashun, a trans man and co-founder of The Molly House Project. “And if you dare put a vagina somewhere that they have worked so hard to put all [their] penises, they see it as an attack, and like you're invalidating their rights.””

[–]Femaleisnthateful 19 insightful - 1 fun19 insightful - 0 fun20 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Ugh, the strawman about the 'humanity of trans people'. No one is 'debating' that. What do these people think a gay man is? Is it about testosterone, or hairyness? How is that less superficial than gonadal sex?

Yes, you are invalidating the rights of gay men by pressuring them to have penis-in-vagina sex. What was the whole point of the gay rights movement?

[–][deleted] 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Didnt you know that being invalidated is reserved for trans only. Invalidating someone’s gender identity? Capital crime. Invalidating gay men’s sexual orientation? Acceptable and even encouraged

But they seem to really love debating the humanity of gays and lesbians, to be honest...

A molly house was a semi secret gay men's club in England about 300 years ago. It included a lot cross dressing. I suppose all the customers are now retrotransed.

“It’s their first time meeting a trans person,” he tells them., referring to his clients. “I’m not offended because I’m being paid. I’m in a position of power.”

This woman is delusional. She doesn't understand that because she is reliant on satisfying or even pandering to her clients, lest she lose their potential money, that she is NOT the one in the position of power; her clients are. This is exactly why the claim that prostitution is "empowering" is complete nonsense. When you give your body up for money you are always having to decide how much of yourself you're willing to compromise for money.

When Belmont started in the industry in 2014, he explains, “I had a lot of hard moments and I had to get a tougher skin. Turns out some cisgender gay men don't need a lot of excuses to tell you how much they hate vaginas. Pretty awkward when they don't know you have one.”

This is entirely on you. You're the homophobic asshole trying to shame gay men for being gay.
