When GLAAD saying LGBTQ they mean "TQ-only".

They have mentioned lesbians zero times in their yearly reports: https://saidit.net/s/LGBDropTheT/comments/7pyp/your_average_lgbt_organisations/

Glenn Greenwald, who I have very mixed feelings about, sometimes agree, sometimes vehemently disagree, has the following to say.

It's truly frightening for LGB that iconoclasts like Greenwald are conflating LGB with outrageous TQ demands, like threatening social media companies for not being safe spaces for lgbTQ.

Greenwald:

"Liberal groups like @glaad continue to make censorship and control of the internet a top priority. Listen to GLAAD's president here demand that social media companies "do better" to regulate speech. US Liberalism is a pro-censorship movement"

Glenn's a smart cookie, he's tough as nails, and he's not afraid to step in it. I think he's just ignorant about the schism between LGB and TQ.

I think Glenn, like some other "iconoclast" American journalists, is starting to sense the madness behind TQ+, but yes, it would really help if he found this forum and /or thought more a bit about the issue. Primarily, why are TQ demands now being conflated with LGB rights to the detriment of those rights? I wish people would use their brains on this issue.

I am confused. Isn't he speaking out against the censorship? I have heard Glenn speak out about the TRAs and their censorship before.

Greenwald seems to be speaking out against censorship and therefore he's agains what GLAAD is advocating for in terms of social media changing its rules in order to provide a "safe space" for LGBTQ.

GLAAD was an important organization 30 years ago, but at this point, it's like an 8-track tape player in a car: mostly useless.

Well, if it's so unsafe, how about they make their own platforms, with lady dicks and bussies? Argh, forget about making own platforms, it's just easier to assimilate existing ones.

They can't because they're soooooooo discriminated against and there are NO social platforms that ever accept them. I mean, these social media sites L-I-T-E-R-A-L-L-Y ban all their user accounts and flood the Admin pool with white cishet gay men who perpetuate the patriarchy by oppressing the brave and stunning ladydiques and frontholers.

The only people I feel unsafe from on those platforms are the gender-demented who tell me I am required to do emotional labour for them because I'm a homosexual man.

Unsafe? People get easily suspended for outright homophobia or questioning transtrenders. What do they want? Force me to list my pronouns or I should be banned?

This is what institutional failure looks like.

They want to give Twitter, Facebook, etc., who already censor so heavily, failing grades, for some metric nobody but GLAAD is privy to? (I'm guessing anything that paints trans in a negative light.) They really think they can bully in even more censorship to cover up their dirty laundry--that they, and other NGOs like them are responsible for the proliferation of negative attitudes towards LGBTQ+? When Big Tech is pretty much already as onboard as they are going to get?

That's what happens when you lump together "hate crimes and incidents" and consider a tweet with a dissenting opinion to be hate speech.
