Oh hey, we've come back around to lesbians being considered lesser women for not pandering to dicks. How amazingly progressive!

i think these people genuinely see gay or lesbian as a "brand", completely removed from the homosexuals and their humanity. I guess that's what corporatism did. But it's not just that, straight man and straight women are a "brand" as well, like that gay guy who has such psychotic levels of internalized homophobia that he thinks he's a straight woman trapped inside a gay man's body because of the "brand" of femininity = straight woman?

"women dont feel like women when theyre not catering to men"..and i guess the magical land of "lesbian" and its brand is less about a group of people but more an aesthetic feeling of rebellion? I have sympathy for bisexuals suffering through all this gender stuff and confusion because theyre "part homosexual" and vulnerable to internalized homophobia and part of our community but this is a damn straight woman. And i have no sympathy or patience for people like that who dont understand these definitions are tied to our civil rights. This is one of those "my sexuality is not your costume" moments. When these people start dictating terms and definitions to sexual identities, then we're screwed, especially since the "brand" heterosexual is the most violently oppressive and remains untouched so she can cause as much damage as possible and run off to her heterosexual "brand" after she finishes her "exploration" in the LGB community.

I think the other issue with the "branding" mentality is the idea that homophobia can only come from a right-wing, Christian viewpoint. I got into the worst kind of argument--a facebook argument--with a woman about gay mean needing to stop using their "misogyny" as an excuse for not dating trans men. Her ace in the hole to rebut me was that she was QuEeR, not some Republican Christian, and proceeded to dismiss my talk about conversion therapy as dealing with "a mean camp counselor."

People are not interested in understanding what it means to be a homosexual, just that it is dragglitterkinkyfabulousness, and they are dragglitterkinkyfabulous queers who like makeup and sex.

this whole "gay men are misogynists" thing is turning into a meme because straight women on twitter are engaging in oppression olympics against gay white men because they sort of forgot that theyre literally heterosexuals and spent 2000 years committing murder against gays along with their heterosexual male buddies whom the fuck and have babies with. Gay men ruin their "we're the biggest victims" vibe.

No way this girl has read more than a paragraph of queer theory. It kills me when they bring up "he him lesbians". You mean lesbians who pretended to be men so that they could be homosexuals and/or have a fucking career?

Yup, these people are dumb & go unchallenged because everyone knows if you poke these people they will directly target your life and try to fuck with you.

I challenge them sometimes but it's a huge time-waster. Luckily I know all the talking points.

I've found their arguments mostly circular and therefore unfalsifiable.

Them: "X is bad because of Y."

Me: "Well, X is actually bad because of Z"

Them: "Z is bad because of Y. Therefore I'm right"

Happens over & over again.

Yeah that's the time-wasting part. I try to stick to verifiable facts like the dangers of puberty blockers, but I do get sucked into the circular arguments a lot.

Next to nobody cares. I've seen time after time people just presuppose the whole argument that puberty blockers are completely harmless. People just base their entire argument off that and it's ludicrous. Then whenever they get called out on it they have like two bullshit studies from some garbage source that says "nope, it's chill my dude". I've listened to people legit argue for chemicals to be put into children (to varying doses of course) the chemicals we used to castrate sexual deviants with. They will look you straight in the face and see no problem with that and think it's totally reversible.

"Injecting some 16 year old with body stunting chemicals is totally reversible and will be fine" is their legit standpoint and it's mind boggling. They're just liars.

I was busy wondering what was going on with her face and didn't let her keep talking. Nor did I get far enough to know which pronoun melange was expected. Color me unconcerned.

Much better, to be honest. I’m convinced that the zoomers are worse than the boomers.

So this person is admitting that homophobia is the reason why lesbians are choosing to identify as trans.

"I'm in a long term relationship with a lesbian. People sometimes ask her what her pronouns are even though she's obviously a woman. She has been asked as much as me even though I'm a trans woman and she is cis."

Sorry to inform you, but you are not dating a lesbian...

Seems like a fake flex.

B-b-but if she's bi, then her sexuality isn't validating me ;~;
