Gay marriage is heteronormative now? How stupid are certain people? Then again, there are a lot of people like that who live in liberal, cosmopolitan cities like London. That that there is anything wrong with a marriage being trans-exclusionary. And "castist"? Gay marriage or civil unions actually help working class and poor gay people, because they can use these institutions to safeguard their relationships from overbearing families or corrupt police officers. Plus, these institutions also help poor or working class same sex couples cope with high taxation rates. It’s very weird to me that a queer theorist from India would brand same sex marriage as "castist", when this theorist most likely comes from one of the higher up castes in India because he or she can afford to live in an expensive city in a country far away from home. And from I’ve heard, the upper castes in India treat the lower castes poorly.

Queer theorists have long turned up their noses at gay marriage, calling it assimilationist. They've been saying the same thing for >25 years. They want everyone to be having pansexual, all-inclusive orgies in public spaces, not having private monogamous relationships.

Plus, they hate marriage because marriage makes it easier for straight couples to reproduce and pass on their property to their children and grandchildren. The fact that gays want to get married to members of the same sex just makes it harder for marriage to be eliminated.

Have they really thought that far ahead? I always felt like it was just a generalized animosity of anything traditional, regardless of its value.

Most of them haven’t because they’re just useful idiots. The rest just want to destroy western civilisation from the inside.

Only the founder of a school of thought has to think through everything. Their acolytes only need to know the "right" conclusions and rules. That said, the founders of postmodern thought very clearly want to undermine Western cultures.

Marriage is only "castist" and "classist" in the sense that rich people get married more than working class people... Idk if this stat holds outside of the US though. I would assume it does to an extent.

For claiming to want to tear down all Western, white, colonialist institutions, TQ+ really does have a way of ignoring societal realities for non-Westerners and shouting over all their concerns.

They will literally latch onto anything. Your -ism is their -ism too.

India hasn't come around to the idea that toilets should be available to everyone, much less gay marriage. Sorry, I like Indian people very much, but it's true.

I will never forget when my ex friend, who was a foujoshi (I don't know if I spelt it right, pretty much fetishized gay men), started to rant to me how gay marriage should be prohibited because no one should marry???

??!?!?!?!?!?!

Girl... has she ever heard of personal choices and the importance of freedom? I doubt.
