David Paisley is bi:

I'm attracted to men, including trans men.

He has attraction to men and women (trans men). That makes him bi. He also says:

I know plenty of gay women that support and include trans people.

Those women are attracted to women and men (trans people, though it's clear from the context he means trans women and enbies). That makes them bi.

Bisexual activists are saying they are homosexual and trying to modify the definition of homosexual so it means bisexual (though they have a different definition of "bisexual", which is why they don't identify as such).

You need only browse this page to find examples of bisexuals (and hets, but that's not what we're talking about) fetishizing same-sex attraction. Usually, these people are claiming to be gay or lesbian, but by their woke definition, gay and lesbian includes people of both sexes but different "genders". Whether or not these people actually feel attraction to both sexes and one "gender" (which is frequently the case, and is very likely the case with the activists I referred to earlier), they are describing bisexuality and claiming to be bisexual (despite using another word for it).

Yeah, nah. I'm not sold on this, I'm especially not taking that nutty actor's word as gospel. You're approaching this with a lot of suppositions about how people choose and express identities that I don't think are reality based.

If a person is attracted to men and women, they are bi.

If a person is attracted to "trans women" and women but identifies as a lesbian, they are bi.

If a person is attracted to "trans men" and men but identifies as gay, they are bi.

If a person is attracted to "AFAB enbies" and "AMAB enbies" but identifies as clownsexual, they are bi.

Need I go on? I'm the one taking the reality-based approach, while you're hung up on how the people identify.

I think they're caving to peer pressure and deluding themselves. That's how people behave.

They get told, "find a way to be less gay," they find their ways.

Ok, so your argument is that they're lying? Some of them definitely are, but plenty aren't. Either way, they're still claiming to be bisexual (though by a different name) so it involves us. Also you seem to be under the impression that they're all lying. I can tell you right now that's not true. I know people like this and I used to be one. Idk how old you are, but I'm Gen Z and this is common among bisexuals my age.

This situation happens all the time:

  1. Meet gay/lesbian person
  2. Get to know them
  3. Find out they experience some attraction to the opposite sex, but are usually effeminate/butch respectively and lean heavily towards the same sex, plus a lot of their identity is based on being gay/lesbian.
  4. Realize they are bi and a liar ¯_(ツ)_/¯

You'll understand when you're older I guess. It explains a lot to find out you're college-aged.

Delusion and fear run deep. So does self-loathing.

Lol. Calling me delusional, fearful, and self-hating because you're too defensive to listen to what I'm saying? Sounds like you're projecting. As a college-aged person, I have more insight into the psyche of these people. If you've never met any Kinsey 5 bis who identify as gay/lesbian then good for you, but I have and so have many of the gay and lesbian people on this forum. Check lesbianbarbie's thread (top comment).

Nah fam, you're right. I've seen and even known a lot of Kinsey 5 bis myself who'd self ID as exclusively homosexual. K5 bi dudes in particular. Its not an isolated occurrence or "trend" by any means.

THANK YOU! This is hard to back up because all "LGBT" studies are all self-identified. No testing for the person's actual orientation.

I think you're wrong. You live in a bubble and lack life experience. That's just how it is. You're reading a whole mythology into behavior that is easier to explain as a reaction to homophobia.

[–]usehername 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I'm curious as to what bubble you think I live in? You might find it easier to explain it as homophobia, but just because it's easy doesn't make it right. There is no mythology. I am telling you the simple truth of how it happens. Many gays and lesbians are telling you the same thing, but you're just dismissing our experiences. Maybe they don't mean much to you because it's only gays and lesbians speaking out. No other bisexuals will talk about this because of their egos. You're brushing me off saying I'm young and dumb, but I'm also curious as to why you think older, seasoned gays and lesbians are agreeing with me here?

[–]PatsyStoneMaverique 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

... and I think you're wrong. I think they are wrong too. I think I am right, at the least introducing things that need to be said.

University campuses are bubbles by design. It's not a bad thing, but knowing lots of bisexuals isn't a normal thing and most of those people are just trying on identities because they're young adults and that's part of growing up. Also not a bad thing.

[–]usehername 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Then why does the rest of the thread agree with me?

[–]PatsyStoneMaverique 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

They're wrong too, lol.

[–]usehername 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

...After re-reading it looks like you weren't calling me those things, so my mistake. Still, you can't pretend what we're all talking about doesn't happen.

I always enjoy reading your comments and I have a lot of respect for you, you seem real, down to earth, and smart. You're rude as fuck, though. I sat here and took a lot of shit from you trying to get my point across. Let's be friends.

I'm glad you enjoy my perspective, but I'm not looking for any older internet friends. Thanks for the offer, though.
