I'm just gonna say it. This lady is weird.

Why go fumbling around blind in the dark to explain sex you'll never have to daughters who are unlikely to ever have it either? Unless this is her way of saying "I think one of my tween and teenage daughters might be gay" in which case lecturing her about safe scissoring is not the way to approach that.

Or am I wrong? I also get a feeling this might be a cultural difference between classes and ethnic backgrounds. I am obviously not the same group as this lady 🤣

Edit: just finished her novel. She claims to not think they're gay but wants to make sure they're prepared in case they have sex with women anyway. Just in case!

I thought the same thing! Like, as a parent it makes NO sense that you’d go to freakin’ Reddit for info about how to explain any kind of sex to a teenager. There are enough resources, both good and bad, online. I don’t know ... maybe I’m just too old and prudish, but I find this woman’s question way too bizarre. Almost fetishistic. Blecchhhh.

Wow it went from lesbian safe sex to make sure you mention gender identity real quick.

At this point I don't think any of my children are lesbian or bi (Largest Child may be Ace) but I also don't want to assume they're straight and then they come home one day with an STD from a girlfriend because the only thing we've talked about is condoms and various forms of birth control.

So she has no indication to insinuate any of her children are gay. Honestly this type of performative wokeness is a large contributer to the QT+ overwhelming all of society. It's like she has a desperate need that her daughters do come out as gay and they aren't so she's running to a lesbian forum looking for wokeness validation.

Also the fact that she ranks her daughters by size is pretty funny. Is she fat shaming her 'ace" daughter? Lol...

Whatever happened to just being open and honest with your kids and letting them know that they don't need to be afraid to ask questions? You don't have to shoehorn in stuff about lesbian sex if you don't think your kids are lesbians, ffs. You can just tell them that if they feel like they may be same-sex attracted then they can come to you with questions of the nature.

Although, truth be told, given that the trans ideology seems to be spreading amongst the youth (this mom says her middle child has a trans friend, at 13 years old no less), I can't imagine that there's really a good way to talk about sex using the terms "straight," "gay," or "lesbian." After all, this 13-year-old girl could enter a relationship with her friend that is also a 13-year-old girl, but that's not a "lesbian" relationship because one of the girls thinks she's a boy. So if they have sex, is it lesbian sex because it's two biological females, or is it straight sex because it's a girl and a "boy?"

I'm glad that I don't have children yet and I hope that, by the time I do, we get back to "teens that want to be special just put on black clothes and thick eyeliner" rather than getting all genderspecial on everything.

I wonder, if there is analogue of this word for men?
