While Out is supposedly an LGB publication, and we all know they've been completely colonized and overrun ... this doesn't have an LGB focus or pertain to us.

Trans hand-wringing and over-hyping their issues isn't our focus here. This is being removed.

Posting because I saw this article on posted over on Reddit and everyone is handwringing and wailing.

What isn't being discussed is that these kids have a normal suicide rate once other issues like autism and anxiety are taken into account. And there's no list of dead trans teens from the past or current who did it because they were told to "wait and see".

The whole higher suicide rate is bullshit. Most of the polls saying they have higher ideation or attempts have massive issues with methodology.

People who had either sought or received transition-related services had a higher suicide attempt rate than people who have not. And the survey did not ask whether suicide attempts occurred before or after services were sought or received.

This top comment is accurate about me except the winning part... I just don't care about most people's suffering. Lol

Transphobes don't care. I've seen numerous ones claiming trans people are "weaponizing suicide" they refuse to see trans people's lives as little more than a matter of debate, they don't care about the lasting effects of what they do, all they want is that short term high of winning.

Not them pretending to care about Lasting Effects

  1. Show me a quantitative and peer-reviewed study from an unbiased source that shows that A) transistioning cuts down suicide rates and B) the high suicide rate in the trans community has nothing to do with mental health.

  2. My best friend struggled with bulimia when we were teenagers. When I finally broke down and told both her and my parents what was happening, she made a credible suicide threat. (Thankfully, her parents immediately got her psychiatric help and therapy. She recovered and is doing well now.) But, by this article’s logic, we all should’ve cowed down and let her do something that would have permanently damaged her teeth, esophagus, stomach, heart, etc. and quite possibly killed her.

it’s set to go into effect this summer.

It hasn't even happened yet and they're already acting like the cops are about to round them up. How embarrassing lol

My state is trying to pass a similar law and this mom was sobbing about how her "daughter" was going to get taken away from her as if it was an immediate danger 🙄
