And here I was thinking the most exciting thing I did this week was take my dogs to get groomed for the first time in a year :P

Congrats on your newly shed-free home 😉

In case anyone is interested, the subreddit overlaps website is apparently back up and running! https://subredditstats.com/subreddit-user-overlaps/

And by back up and running, I mean that it's been running for a while and had some obvious bugs, and now it doesn't seem to have any bugs so I really hope it's fixed. Lol.

How're people holding up with regards to covid/social distancing? Had a vaccine yet?

Got my second dose a few days ago. Also got to experience the unpleasant side effects. However, I also got to go grab a pint with friends for the first time in over a year last night! How about you?

I'm waiting on the email to tell me when I'm going in to get my second dose, but it still don't be for a few weeks. I found out my sister went behind my back and signed me up to get the J&J one but it was scheduled after my original appointment so I just kept that one. And the day before I would have gotten the J&J it was paused :P

Nothing has changed for me yet re: social distancing but omg I will be so happy for remote learning to be a memory next fall

I’ve gotten really into watching this YouTube channel (History Urbex) where these three Polish guys explore abandoned places and talk about their historical significance. It’s pretty neat.

However, in a bunch of episodes, the guys urge younger Polish viewers to learn Poland’s more recent history (e.g. martial law, communism, etc.). Can any of our Polish members explain why they keep doing that?

Everyone seems depressed around here.

I mean, this is a community focused on discussing homophobia/biphobia, conversion therapy performed on LGB kids, etc. They're depressing topics.

On the other hand, a lot of people come here to vent, myself included. So in that sense, I might say it's actually a sign of a good thing that many comments seem negative; it's nice to be able to vent here, when doing so in real life could put me at risk of harm.

I agree. This sub deals with a lot of unpleasant subject matter that a lot of us can’t freely talk about in real life. So, it probably could seem like we’re a bunch of despondent people instead of regular people in a frustrating situation.

Why do you say that?

I can't speak for others, but the complaining I myself do and cynicism I show on social media is usually not a accurate indication of my overall mood. Which is actually more optimistic.
