Does that mean that if a transwoman is nasty, mean, disrespectful, selfish and poorly behaved, that they're a actually cis man?

Careful. You’re using logic, and the TRAs will go berserk as a result.

Since you're from Ireland, I wonder, do you know if UK has plenty of transwomen like USA? It's the situation the same or better?

Since you're from Ireland, I wonder, do you know if UK has plenty of transwomen like USA?

*sharp gasp through gritted teeth* Nuh uh, no ma'am do not go there.

For serious though:

I live in the UK, and I was explaining to a friend of mine just this morning that I think sometimes we're in danger of exaggerating the extent of the phenomenon because we spend so much time thinking about it.

I don't believe that trans people represent a significant portion of the population in any country on either side of the Atlantic. What appears to give their voices disproportionate volume is their armies of handmaidens and wokesters willing to do their bidding.

As for the situation being 'better' here or in the States, it depends entirely on how you define the term. In the US you have the first amendment which will protect the things you say from government interference. No such statue exists in the UK, and so you get things called 'non-crime hate incidents' which are recorded against your name when you tweet something that upsets someone. These 'incidents' will show up on a criminal record check when you apply for certain jobs (involving children or vulnerable people) and were brought in my the College of Policing, which is a non-elected body who is accountable to precisely no-one. I like to think this kind of thing would come up against the supreme court (if it got that far) in the States and would be shut down fast.

On the other hand, I think the UK has got some things right that America hasn't got to yet. Self-ID was rejected by the UK parliament some months ago, for example, and is unlikely to come back up for discussion until the government changes from blue to red (so to speak) which is looking exceedingly unlikely since the Labour Party are an absolute disgrace at the moment. The government aren't really on board with the whole 'woke' thing which is very much not the case in the United States.

Is one situation 'better' than the other? Hard to say. They are just different.

Ahahah, I guess UK and Ireland are a bit enemies.I know trans are a small minority. but USA has had a significant increase in trans hetero males calling themselves lesbian and now tinder is filled with them, so I wondered if in Uk there were something similar. Also, the homosexuals kids becoming trans. I doubt though, USA situation is so bad because to me, the entire culture is extremely sexist and goes too strong on gender roles and stereotypes, and also they got big pharmas money supporting this which isn't the case in Europe. So,maybe will never get as bad in Europe. I hope so.

I think 'enemies' is too strong a term, but that's a whole separate thing.

I wouldn’t say Ireland and the UK are enemies anymore, but it is true that our governments are full of petty politicians. Then there’s the violence in Northern Ireland these past few days. But most Irish people don’t mind the British, and most British don’t mind the Irish.

I don’t know about the UK. I’d assume that the number of trans lobbyists outnumber the actual number of transgender people over there. But there is pushback in England at least, while Scotland seems to be doubling down on their support for TRAs. Don’t know much about Wales or Northern Ireland though.

Haha, you're so silly! You forgot to use doublethink and double standards to know that anyone who identifies as trans is trans (unless they're guilty of wrongthink) and also that a trans person can do no wrong (other than wrongthink). The only think that doesn't come in doubles is genders, apparently.

[–]Femaleisnthateful 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

It would be a big step forward if TRAs could acknowledge that violent, fetishistic men weren't 'real' transwomen but just co-opting women's identities as a power move. They won't do that, of course, because then they'd have to explain what makes a transwoman a woman, and they can't do that.

Most men are completely capable of wearing a dress, I have. The meme is even weirder, its basically saying if a man is a decent human being they must be trans.

[–]wafflegaffWoman. SuperBi. 18 insightful - 1 fun18 insightful - 0 fun19 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

The stench of desperation oozing out of these TRAs is suffocating. Their actual demographic is full of atrocious people, so they're trying to appropriate non-atrocious people to boost the ratio of decent people in their own cult. They know what the real optics are.

[–]Dromedary 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Atrocious people indeed. Andrew Sullivan's new Substack article on trans issues is pretty good.

"For some radical feminists, my empathy for trans women, and concern for their welfare, is regarded as a function of my misogyny and hatred of women, often wrapped up in some anti-gay, misandrist bile. I wish I were exaggerating here as well. The proportion of people in this debate who seem psychologically unstable, emotionally volatile and personally vicious seems larger than usual. "

For some radical feminists, my empathy for trans women

Probably this: https://andrewsullivan.substack.com/p/a-truce-proposal-in-the-trans-wars-c49

ETA: That was a good article. I agree with most of it. I want to paste it to many people's foreheads whom I personally know, but of course, I'd probably get mistreated in response. ("Cancelled" implies some sort of validity to mistreating people for wrongthink, so eff that.)

(Thanks for posting the link; I was about to, it was very late at night when I wrote here and saw that when you go to the article through Google there's a paywall. But if you go through AS's Twitter there isn't.. I was too exhausted to explain. 😅)

I thought it was a good article too. Andrew is someone who's been getting up my nose for 25 years, irks me constantly, but when he's good on something, he's good.

There is no such thing as a cis man. If you’re a man, and you’re under no delusion that you are a woman or some made-up identity, then you’re just a man. You have a penis, or have had a penis? You’re a man. You have a Y-chromosome? You’re a man.

Most men are decent people. We seem unpleasant to TRAs because TRAs are destroying civilisation. Also, you hear a lot about MTFs being misogynistic, and there is a lot of truth in that, because MTFs have a warped understanding of being a woman and they take over women’s spaces. But a lot of MTFs also have internalised misandry - either they became trans because they could not accept that they are men, or they became misandristic after they became trans. Plus, TRAs hate that most men don’t bow to their demands.

[–]Dromedary 13 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

"Most men are decent people." Oh yes. I'm not any sort of ridiculous MRA, but I look back at the men I grew up with- you know, dads and uncles and family friends etc. etc.- and they were more than decent, they were kind, respectful, all the things that hateful image ascribes exclusively to .. men who are secretly trans? It's stupid as well as hateful, which describes the majority of TRAs.

I have a good relationship with my dad and my brother. I have a male cousin living in England who I’m close with. My best friend is also a man. And all of these men are straight. In fact, most men in my life are good. There are men out there who are evil or insane or both, which is why we have prisons, but most men are good or neutral. Although I can understand a woman being terrified of men in most of the men around her were horrible people.

We need to ruin the word "trans" for these people by basically just saying all gays and lesbians are trans...and we're all non binary so it's meaningless. This guy is being a fucking idiot but he's referring to a "nice" gay guy..who's feminine. I think transexuals are borderline psychotic and the "transformation" from gay "nice" boy to "trans weirdo" turns them into creepy sasquatches but there's still a world of a difference between a gay "trans" person and a straight man who FEELS like a lesbian.

When i heard someone explain what "non binary" was to me, it's like gays and lesbians forgot why we were persecuted? Our entire identity is "non binary" and we're basically "transgendered" because sometimes our personalities, characters, psychology doesnt always fit heterosexual standards. Doesnt mean we should run around and chop off our dicks and breasts to "make them match". "Transgenderism" is directly correlated to however crazy and psychotic heterosexuals want to be in how rigid the personalities they demand from the sex of the hetero involved. The less crazy heterosexuals are, the less transgenderism becomes a thing. If even drinking a "fruity" drink can make you question your sexuality, then yeah, you're going to get A LOT of transexuals. And notice how gay culture, when its healthy and thriving, is equipped to deal with this garbage? "im a 7 foot tall hyper masculine soldier..i must not be gay and must secretly be a straight man hiding inside a gay man's body" <-- he'd be laughed out of the room.

What a piece of shit thing to suggest. I do know "cis" straight men who are kind, caring people.

Maybe there would be more of them if the "LGBTQ+" movement didn't insist that they're all secretly women in their souls. What a sexist, regressive thing to say. "If you're kind and caring then it means you MUST be a woman" how do people think this is progressive, again??

Yes, and if men (as well as boys) were to actually believe this? That being "nice, kind, respectful, generous & well behaved" = "female"?

Then anyone who is will assume that he's "trans". So the only guys left to "identify as male" are gonna be assholes. Probably on an epic scale, since the worse you act, the better at manhood you must be! (And the safer you are from having your dick turned inside-out and your balls cut off.)

In other words, this meme-- if it had its way-- would bring about the very reality that it professes to decry.

The complete lack of logic and critical thinking is just hilarious. If a man has any positive qualities ot must be because he's actually supposed to be a woman. Most men are kind, and respectful and well behaved.

👀 I will say this used to be the case... like in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. A woman could count on a good Judy (typically a gnc gay man such as Miss Jay Alexander to Tyra Banks) to have her back (with no familial nor sexual strings attached).
