That was a good read. If this was shared on https://www.reddit.com/r/butchlesbians, it would be reported and removed by the AutoMod (automatically removes anything that's reported for any reason).

They're currently encouraging someone to get "top surgery". 🥺

Can a cis butch woman get top surgery? - https://www.reddit.com/r/butchlesbians/comments/mlkv2x/can_a_cis_butch_woman_get_top_surgery/

I can get being masculine, but taking your tits off to appear more like a male is too far. I simply can't see anyone really homosexual being into that level of masculine woman. Only a bisexual could find it appealing.

Don't drag me into this

I think most people, regardless of sexual orientation, are not into their partner getting an entirely unnecessary double mastectomy.

Yeah, but I meant that that's just too masculine, this women are trying to be like men as much as possible and rejecting a crucial aspect of the female nature. If you like females you cannot like something like that. I wish I had bigger boobs lol

I disagree, there’s more to a girls body than tits.. and I personally wouldn’t mind a detitted woman,

Jfc. How many people on that sub are female OR homosexual, let alone both? I can’t imagine there are a lot of legit butch lesbians on Reddit. What a hostile and predatory place for baby butch lesbians.

This is grooming and encouragement of body dissociation. These groomers are treating healthy bodies and organs as disposable and moldable like Play Doh. This isn’t even run-of-the-mill plastic surgery (which I am also increasingly critical of too). This is destroying the functionality of healthy organs. I know many butch lesbians are uncomfortable with their breasts but in my experience this is due to society’s over-sexualization of breasts and that larger breasts often make it difficult to wear the clothes they want. But a double mastectomy is extreme and it needs to be treated as extreme. We need open and honest conversations about why women are uncomfortable with and want to permanently remove their breasts.

It's difficult to align your butch identity and have breasts.

Fucking piece of shit... I swear to god, I hope the people who thoughtlessly say stuff like this have some sort of recognition and feeling of horror at the harm caused by their actions.

Oh they have no remorse and no shame because they know they’re not talking about themselves. They’re playing a role. Most aren’t lesbians. A lot aren’t even women. From checking the post history of a lot of the most suspect posters, it looks like the alt accounts of trans-identified males used for RPGing as a “cis lesbian.” They only go to the worst of the worst “queer” subreddits and make small stops at other transjacked subs. You can just tell in what they talk about and how they say it. It’s got LARPing male written all over it. I also notice the heavy overlap between the posters there and r/LBL, particularly with post histories obsessing over the MasterDoc in r/LBL and especially the language that says you can be attracted to men and also a lesbian. It’s very common for the bi/straight women there to do a hard 180 with their aesthetic once they “come out” to really commit to the performance of their fake lesbian charade. So I’m not surprised that they head over to r/butchlesbians and turn it into that cess pool.

Amazing essay, thank you so much for sharing.

I especially loved the ending:

Why are we putting all of our resources into escaping brutality rather than eliminating brutality? We’re cutting up our bodies because our lived reality is worse. Why do we celebrate that?

Medical transition is but one option for those with GD. We need to reclaim our understanding of GD as a condition so that we can have reality based-conversations and solve real personal and social problems. “Trans” as a concept, masks many underlying issues. A queer theory-based understanding of myself worsened my GD. Medical transition became an addiction. The illusion only works if we’re lucky enough to pass and everyone else plays along perfectly. It’s an exhausting game of whack-a-mole to dodge the reminders of my female past and female biology. *How is that kind of dissociation desirable? Some people may benefit from medically transitioning, but we still need a reality-based understanding of ourselves, to keep our feet on the ground.

Our children deserve better. If this sounds transphobic to you, you’re a part of the problem. Owning our reality for what it is isn’t self-hatred. It’s self-acceptance. Having different ideas and a different vision of how to move forward isn't hatred. Hatred was the skinheads who circled around us at the small 1992 Winnipeg gay and lesbian march, long before Pride was a parade. Hatred was the men who drove from the suburbs into Vancouver with the intent to "kill a fag" and murdered Aaron Webster in Stanley Park. I’m well acquainted with phobia. This isn't phobia. This is love.

I’ve been saying that we’ve been missing the platforming of voices of actual lesbians in countering the gender ideology movement and that is essentially what Scott Newgent brings. This is everything I want people who think they are being allies by not questioning gender ideology to hear.

What is the counter argument? That some people feel helped by transition (despite the lack of any long term studies/support)? OK, even if that’s true then why can’t Scott’s voice be heard alongside? Why must Scott be silenced? Who doesn’t want all of this to be safer and for no one to suffer from gender dysphoria?
