They don't exist unless all attention is focused entirely and solely on them.

Social media is a horrible plague upon humanity.

"Invisibilizing." That's a wrap.

The moment when ‘invalid’ isn’t pretentious enough.

I almost spit out my coffee reading that RIDICULOUS word.

Horrible, horrible writing throughout.

Is this satire? If not, just wow. I can't imagine a haircut prompting a transcendental state of consciousness. Maybe I've been wasting all these years with meditation when I could have simply gotten a new haircut?

Legend says that the enlightenment of the Buddha himself was precipitated by the poor asymmetric bob he received at Harit's Hair and Nail.

'Do you want to see the back?' said Harit, brightly.

'Yes, please,' replied Siddharta. There was a pained moment of silence as Siddharta looked at the hatchet job Harit had done on his hair. What would the others say?

'What do you think?' asked Harit, eagerly.

'All life is suffering.'

😹 ayo these posts are hilarious. As I've said before, a haircut/hairstyle can definitely be "empowering", but you have to be self-aware about it and acknowledge WHY your "new look" is empowering. Unpack that shit.

You don't feel "queer enough" because you're a bi woman with a man... and you want people to know you're bi via a hairstyle. 💀

Reminds me of how 40+ years old get mohawks to be seen as badasses (if you watch The Challenge: All-Stars... Mark, Derrick and Ruthie have the same mohawk lol).

These hairstyles may indicate you're having an internal crisis.

I just thought of the PERFECT mixture of the two (being bi and 40+)... Sara Ramirez getting a haircut/mohawk. 😹

Rather than just wearing a rainbow / bi flag somewhere. This must be the new hanky code.

Circling back to this part to point out that age has nothing to do with behavior or one's level of being a "badass," so that attitude was a bit startling to read here (twice). There are people of all ages and orientations on this forum. Being in a given age range doesn't qualify one for contempt. Some of the most "badass" people I know are in their 70s and 80s, incidentally.

I think this is the same topic as the other post, but I'll comment again because it's so ridiculous lol.

This is the kind of shit that makes many of my straight friends roll their eyes at the "LGBTQ+" community, and for good reason. It's also part of why I'm not a member of the "LGBTQ+" community. This person, even if/though they are bisexual, is perpetuating harmful stereotypes based on sexual orientation, and that is bullshit.

When satire becomes so indistinct with our reality we know we've gone full clown world 😭🥲

So this woman is sad because she can't correct people for thinking that her straight relationship is a straight relationship by pointing out how special and queer she is?

How are these people unable to find happiness without needing to yell at or otherwise tell people how they're wrong?

I'd never seen the word "invisibilize" used in my life, but then, in my world, we don't have "Blursday" either.

The only thing separating her from a little kid calling "mommy, look at me, I'm a dinosaur! Mom! Look! Look! Look at me! I'm a dinosaur, mommy! Watch me!" is that over-the-top use of her thesaurus (which sounds like a type of dinosaur!)

I've noticed this "losing queerness during pandemic" sentiment among many people I know who identify as 'queer'. Their identity seems to be entirely based on external validation.

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yep. A lot of people detransitioned during lockdown too because no one was around to use their preferred pronouns.

[–][deleted] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Why must you broadcast 'queerness' anyway? And since then did a fucking haircut let people know you're bi? This reminds me of that post here a while back where that girl was wishing she wasn't attracted to men so she could have an 'excuse' to call herself 'LGBT'. Why is it so important? These people are so annoying.

It's bad enough when 'regular' people think being LGB is all a bunch of performative stereotypes, but then actual LGBs do it and give them ammo.

[–]lavender_menace 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

First world problems really. And not just that but that non-existant problem only occurs in an entitled bored and bubble wrapped mind of someone who was never poor.

[–]censorshipment 6 insightful - 6 fun6 insightful - 5 fun7 insightful - 6 fun -  (0 children)

Yep. It really highlights how good their lives are, so they find something to be unhappy and cry about. This is why so many people have jumped on the preferred pronouns bullshit... it gives them something inoffensive and trivial to pout about for attention. Smh
