Removing for rule 2.

This would be better suited for s/GenderCritical, s/GenderCriticalGuys, s/ThereAreTwoGenders, or s/GCdebatesQT.

Frankly it's racist to insinuate that non-western cultures couldn't figure out the basics of reproduction.

Agreed. I can only imagine that the people making this accusation are uneducated on the basics of human reproduction, themselves.

This. Seriously. TRA’s love to use the “third genders” in a lot of non-white countries as justification for transgenderism in Western countries, which makes no sense at all, but they will co-opt the struggles of others if they think it helps fortify their own arguments. In reality, they have no real understanding of the cultures they use as props, and they have no real empathy for the issues of others.

I think the main reason they bring race into it is because they feel like it’s an iron clad defense against anyone questioning them, since they can just label dissenters as “racist”. It’s just further intellectual dishonesty and more logical fallacies.

The 3rd genders they like to talk about aren't actually 3rd genders. They're just different social roles for men that the societies thought were lesser men, usually gay men, eunuchs, effeminate men etc.

These cultures absolutely knew who was male and female. They just also wanted to oppress certain groups of men they didn't like.

Genderology and the Anti-white movement are closely entwined. Ironically (or not) it's upper middle class young white people in the West who are most obsessed with this and driving it. I'd guess Columbia University in NYC is ground zero, but there's plenty of others.

These ideologies of Critical Race Theory (hatred of white people, plain and simple) and Queer Theory, and all identity politics are being pushed by all schools, corporations (Coca-Cola thinks they can sell more high fructose corn syrup drinks with "be less white"?), media, and now government institutions. Joe Biden wasn't just out there pushing for trans demands, but focusing on "transwomen of color" -- very telling.

Obviously someone is bankrolling all this, and they must be laughing their asses off at how easily people are going along with it. They just keep seeing how far they can push. I never thought I'd see "lesbians should like penises if they're on a woman" enter the mainstream, but here we are.

I'd guess Columbia University in NYC is ground zero, but there's plenty of others.

Columbia and UCLA are where much of this originated. UCLA's Education Department was where students protested that using standard punctuation was oppressive. Think about what that says about their approach to education.

Those full stops are pretty oppressive.

Gender binary and white supremacy in the same sentence--it's like Queer Theory and Critical Race Theory had a child.

Love how they appropriate terms from cultures whose people have repeatedly said they didn’t want others using those terms, even specifically saying that it wasn’t related to gender/trans ideology, while they compare understanding how sex works to racism.

The people who post this nonsense count on the people who listen to them not being well-educated. For example, it's clear in the Jewish Old Testament that they have rules about men and women. That's from a Middle Eastern Semitic culture -- you know, the people the white supremacist Nazis wanted to wipe out. How many ancient religions have gods and goddesses? Even artifacts so old we don't know much about their cultural context show definite male/female archetypes in their design.

No, prehistory wasn't some magical poly-gender utopia. That's just a recent reworking of Rousseau and the noble savage.

How have we raised people stupid enough to believe this shit?

[–]reluctant_commenter 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

the noble savage

That's exactly it! I was trying to put words to this, thank you. It blows my mind that so many so-called progressives are acting out this stereotype.

[–]fuck_reddit 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The fact that anyone believes Rousseau was right is a massive sign of intellectual rot...

It’s totally the Noble Savage all over again plus Edward Said’s concept of Orientalism. What’s even weirder is when they talk about groups of people who are still around (the Hijra) and they make no attempt to learn more than a one line self-serving platitude. They don’t talk to the Hijra or people from the society in which Hijra exist to figure out what that’s all about.

Mentally disturbed white males spewing this nonsense & should be ashamed of themselves for trying to attach themselves to other groups fighting for true equality rights.

This is such a load of nonsense, and it's clearly an attempt to put the very idea of sex dimorphism beyond the pale. It's also lowkey racist in and of itself - like non-Western cultures had no notion of male and female before The White Man came along and explained it all to them.

[–]SnowAssMan 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Non-Western cultures tend to be more traditionalist, centring gender/reproductive roles a lot more. Their homosexual populations tend to take on the role & dress of the opposite sex in order to fit in. These cultures' words for feminine gay men (two-spirit, muxe, katheoy etc.) are misinterpreted (possibly deliberately, as there are enough books written about them) nowadays as a "third gender" & "evidence" to support the supposed universal existence of "transgender identities".

In short: the trans-cult promotes homophobic erasure.

In addition to that, they like to pretend that being "agender", or androgynous are genders of their own, when clearly labels that essentially mean "neither gender" & "a mixture between both genders" supports a binary gender system. There is only male & female / masculinity & femininity.

Just challenge them to name a third gender. Apart from trying to pass off equivalents to "neither" & "both" as independent genders, they won't be able to do it.

it's very racist. I'm of mixed ancestry and the amount of racism in general from the left is astounding, they just dress it up in woke language. I prefer the blatant racism of the right, at least they aren't lieing about it

[–]fuckupaddamsBisexual Terve 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The wide range of genders they're always saying other cultures have/had is male, female, and gay feminine male. Actually a bit homophobic.
