We did not adequately vet her background before formally hiring her.

Umm, bullshit. Challenor's problems were all highly public knowledge that anyone could have found via the simplest Google search. Getting ejected from TWO political parties in the UK isn't something you accidentally overlook.

"We didn't adequately vet her background" might be credible where there was a charge from 20-30 years ago that might not show up on a background check.

Reddit is simply infested with TRAs and TRA sympathizers who thought no one would notice. Who will they hire next? Maybe they can offer Jessica Yaniv a public relations position. What's Karen White doing these days? Is he out of prison?

Similarly, saying that talking about him is doxxing/harassment is absurdly fallacious. He's a public figure and his dirty laundry is public knowledge.

If reddit actually followed the above policy, they'd ban everyone who ever said anything mean about trump because muh doxxing/harassment uwu

Seriously. I rolled my eyes at the one comment on the Reddit faux-apology that screamed “fuck transphobia!!”. Yeah, you can thank the “transphobes” for finding out and disseminating that information about Aimee in the damn first place! I’m so tired of these people and their performative activism.

Hiring Jonny to do their PR would be the best thing ever.

Oh man I'd pay to watch Jonny Yaniv become a mod of r/actuallesbians. Top notch entertainment watching the last few lesbians on AL peak trans.

wax muh "moderation log"

I'm surprised Yaniv isn't a Reddit power mod. He can code and seems to have some ins at Twitter... I missed if there was a thread on this, but Yaniv seems to have gone through with getting his dick cut off and is having health consequences. (Unless he's faking it, he posted pix of his bleeding and oozing wound and was taken into the ER.) Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.

So they had far-reaching protections in place to protect him from twansphobia and doxxing, but somehow were unaware of all the bad shit? And this is someone they had a prior working relationship with? I know it's all bullshit but this is SuperBullshit and the comment section is delicious

Yeah, they knew what they were doing the whole time. The only failure of the admins was underestimating the community response.

The whole tone of the announcement is "Sorry we got caught" and people are rightfully calling it out.

[–]dreamgermsbisexual nightmare 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nothing is more important to Reddit than protecting pedophiles and the TRA’s that support them. The only reason they dropped this mess of a human being is because of public pressure. There are other mods that engage in the same type of shit as Aimee who are still in place.

[–]deliciousdogfoodmy name isnt a puppyplay reference i swear[S] 33 insightful - 1 fun33 insightful - 0 fun34 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Now they just need to get rid of the pedophile husband and all the pedophiles on AHS.

No one in the comments are buying the "lack of vetting" excuse though.

[–]Butterlogs✨Superlesbian ✨ 29 insightful - 2 fun29 insightful - 1 fun30 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Since your vetting process is clearly flawed, will you go back and re-vet all Reddit admins and mods who are already onboard, in addition to those future ones incoming?

If they do, then Bardfinn will be axed. Then how will he do the honorable work of posting CP on subs that he deems unacceptable?

There's a lot of roaches under that rotting floorboard and I'm pretty sure at this point spez either doesn't care or is too scared to see just how thoroughly his website has become a hotbed of pedophiles/rape apologists.

Reddit has unironically become what the media thought 4chan was before m00t sold it and it got largely sterilized.

[–]Alma_Esmeraude 23 insightful - 1 fun23 insightful - 0 fun24 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

On March 9th, we added extra protections for this employee, including actioning content that mentioned the employee’s name or shared personal information on third-party sites, which we reserve for serious cases of harassment and doxxing.

Hm... They knew. They anticipated the negative reaction, but thought they could ban enough users and/or nuke subs to keep it under wraps. (As they usually do.) What they didn't anticipate was the level of furor... They were so heavy-handed, it backfired. This isn't going away now.

[–]SerpensInferna 20 insightful - 1 fun20 insightful - 0 fun21 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah...why do I feel like this is bullshit? The information was clearly out there and public knowledge, reddit has become a haven for pedophiles and they absolutely knew what they were doing. They underestimated the backlash because they've become so cozy in their echo chambers. It takes 2 seconds of research to conclude that "Aimee" is a severely damaged, perhaps irredeemably so, individual - and child abusers should be given no quarter, no matter their disgusting fetishes.

Although I have innumerable issues with TRAs, my number one right now is that as long as you say "I'm trans!" nothing else you have ever done can be called out, because the party line is that you were just working through your issues. If, at this point, you cannot see the ven diagram that connects transgenderism and pedophilia, you are willfully ignorant.

We're not sorry we hired this person, we're just sorry we got caught.

[–]GConly 16 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 0 fun17 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Holy shit, over 11k comments and virtually all where a combo of "fuck off", "you're lying" and "what were you thinking?"

Nice seeing Drewiepoodle getting caught up, people are posting the screen cap where he invited a 13yo to his house for illegal hormone injections.

Maybe they should take a hard look at Bardfinn too. Someone who slams with CP, probably has hard drive full of it.

"allegedly"

Well they adamantly refuse to name the employee, so allegedly it remains until spez grows a spine and stops covering for a pedo apologist.

Pretty obvious who it is, though.

I don't believe "Aimee" is really gone. Just given a new sock and told to lay low for awhile.

The post from TIA is really going after reddit for this. I'm amazed TIA is still allowed to exist.

https://old.reddit.com/r/TumblrInAction/comments/mcjhpy/sub_is_back_and_reddit_is_no_longer_employing_an/

I was going through some other subs and there are literally just huge comment threads with people taking this opportunity to bitch about "terfs" and how "UK has a huge terf problem". Basically instantly jumping to a no true scotsman defense while also attacking people in the UK for the fact that the UK is kind of peaking in some communities.

Bizarrely one of the best write ups that didn't mince words was by NewsHub/TV3 NZ:

Hundreds of Reddit forums locked down, admin fired after allegations of supporting pedophilia

[–]Q-Continuum-kin 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

those comments were actually taken directly from people on reddit i think, not someone writing up a criticism.

[–]KingDickThe2nd 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes much of the article is in quotes, but the journalist isn't actively trying to downplay it.

I mean compare their header with the one used by the Verge: "Major subreddits are going dark to protest Reddit allegedly hiring a controversial UK politician"

[–]AugustiJade 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I am not American, so not sure how it works - but, can someone contact the FBI or whoever to track Aimee and his clique? They all seem to be quite involved in paedophilia. There's plenty of proof as well.

[–]deliciousdogfoodmy name isnt a puppyplay reference i swear[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't think the FBI can legally operate in other countries, and last I heard they were all in the UK.

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I call bs on this one. Aimee is infamous as a pedo, his father was a pedo, his uncle was a pedo, their entire family is a pedo dynasty. Reddit just loves to promote transdegeneracy, which is really evident with all the censorship. I'm glad there was a pushback
