I can't watch this whole thing because my brain is fried and she seems exhausting but all I have to say is if you need an entire comic book to explain the theory behind whatever the fuck it is you think you are, your theory sucks.

As an elementary teacher, I wanted to say I think kid's books and graphic novels can be excellent tools for spreading ideas and teaching people big/complicated ideas... Partly why I wish we had more gender critical and LGB only focused kid's books...all the LGB books for kids right now are HEAVY on the gender identity and transing kids...makes me so uncomfortable I've been trying to navigate how to deal with that and my disagreements with gender identity and transing kids without hurting my trans kids (we have 2 AND THEY ARE BOTH UNDER 10!! Luckily they've only shifted pronouns and gender presentation but I'm worried they may start taking hormones/medically transitioning before puberty...)

Actually would love some gc and LGB kid's books recs if anyone has any? (Sorry to derail this comment, it just made me start thinking about the use of kid's books and other simple texts to spread this cult propoganda to well-meaning parents and confused kids.)

And yes, she does seem exhausting, but that's how I feel about most "queer folxs"

LGBTQOMGWF childrens' books are all the rage now, but like you said, very TQ+ heavy. I'd look for stuff published before 2014 if I were you, but a majority of that will focus on L/G parents (like Billy Has Two Mommies kind of thing.) It's real interesting actually, LGB kids didn't get to be LGB in childrens' books, but TQ+ enjoy this privilege. (I'm not talking about YA/MG, at least in those we get more rep. And pre-2016/7 too many of them were written by straight women.) I don't have any specific titles, I'm just in a chatty mood I guess.

Two trans kids under 10?? Wow...

I'm curious, does it happen within certain social classes and not others? One of my best friends is an elementary school teacher too, she has never had to deal with that but only teaches in relatively poor areas and I wonder if there's a link, on top of the fact the trans contagion isn't as intense here as the US or UK.

This is only anecdotal (UK) but a friend told me a while back that the local grammar school (have to pass an exam to get in, mostly white affluent parents) had quite a few trans kids. The school mine go to is a local comprehensive that has been in and out of special measures for years and attracts a poorer income demographic to the best of my knowledge has zero trans kids. The school has no policies around trans either which leads me to believe they've not needed any so far. A lot of the kids that go there have far bigger problems than identity navel gazing.

To add - the school is pretty great in a lot of ways. There's a perception that all schools that have poorer intakes and social problems are terrible but the staff are really dedicated and I'd actually rate it as a good school even if the rankings don't. I'm grateful my kids don't get their heads filled with identity nonsense.
