I get that rejection sucks, but does it always mean that the rejector is actually a trash-tier person?

I'd rephrase the question. Does it ever mean that the rejector is actually a trash-tier person?

Given that the person asking is in a vulnerable place now that they've put their cards on the table, rejecting someone in a nasty or unnecessarily harsh way does make you a garbage person. However, no one owes anyone else a relationship, and politely rejecting someone you're not interested in does not in any way make you a bad person.

Yes, I could've said it better. Being spiteful or cruel to someone when rejecting them is awful, but not wanting to hook up does not.
