I followed a link that led me to the Advocate. I thought oh yeah, there's a gay publication I didn't know still existed. What are the stories? Well, praising a teen girl who they call "he" for example. I guess it's now the Trans Advocate.

I didn't read far enough to learn if she's had her top surgery yet.

Yes, 30 years ago, but they have since experienced a Trans Takeover.

Gay men and lesbians are no longer cutting edge enough.

You know how we keep reading about those girls on the autism spectrum who keep getting caught up in this trans mess? I have a feeling this girl is one of them.

The good news is, it doesn't look like this is anything but a social transition so far. Just name, pronouns, and clothes (though I don't think actual boys really wear these kind of things??)

ANyway, yeah, back in the 90's the Advocate used to be for gay men. If people ended up on the cover who weren't gay men, people would be like.......... Why is he/she on the cover? He/she is not a gay man. And then the speculations would begin... maybe he is secretly gay? Maybe she is secretly lesbian. Bisexuals don't exist so let's not talk about them...

As an autistic woman who felt that my gender non-conformity might be a sign of being trans, I can easily tell that this might be the case with this girl. Not to mention, from her strange speech patterns (almost as if they're practiced), the way her eyes wander and her hand movements point to her being on the spectrum.

However, these days parents are more likely to affirm their child's thoughts without attributing it to other things, such as gender non-conformity being normal in autistic people, and external pressure from peers and online communities they might have access to.

She's most likely a lesbian, maybe bisexual, but she's not in an era where that's enough. You can't just be a normal lesbian, you have to be trans queer, or genderfluid, especially if you're young.

A few years back The Advocate started running articles telling gay men they had to fuck trans men, and that was officially The End.
