Eh, lesbians 5-10 year back didn't identify as lesbians either. It hasn't been a popular word for a while now. The sexuality in itself has never been popular, I don't think. I think a lot of lesbians went underground. I know myself and a bunch of my friends all did. We've mostly stopped participating in "LGBT" spaces. I think a lot of people got tired of the constant harassment from male trans people and all their allies. Most of the lesbians I've met in the last few years have been through other lesbians. Progress is going in reverse: lesbians aren't as open about their sexuality anymore because of all the craziness and harassment and demands. Lesbian spaces and events have gone back to invite-only.

Really wish I could get invited to some lesbian only events, it feels so isolating being a lesbian somtimes. (Kinda thought it would get better when I got a gf but it's still hard), I wanna be more intentional about making lesbian friends this year (real lesbians not queer, I have a ton of those friends and they are like talking to a brick wall when it comes to gender identity stuff...)
