Unless a creator confirms that a character he or she has created is gay or bisexual, then I don’t consider said character to be gay or bisexual. Also, the confirmation has to be genuine; if the creator is just pandering or is caving to woke pressure, then I’m not going to be convinced.

Good for William Shatner.

It's just a matter of statistics. I'm not gonna sit here and yell at someone for not assuming a health-aware character has OCD and claim they're ableist and, idk, neurotypical-normative, and I'm not gonna sit here and claim a dude with male friends is gay and yell at someone for being homophobic and heteronormative if they don't, because both things just aren't statistically likely. It's not hate, it's being logical...

Exactly. Homosexuals are 1-3% of the population. Bisexuals maybe another 2-4%. Take 100 men at random, and it would be rare if there were more than 3 homosexual men and more than 4 bisexual men. Unless you’re in an area that caters to or appeals to gay and bisexual men, like a gay bar. But in a general setting, 90% of people will be straight. That’s why you’re assumed to be straight unless you declare or show otherwise.
