How does the neopenis differ from a penis, and what makes the neopenis not a penis even if with the help of stem cell research it works like a penis?

Would the future neopenis that functions exactly like a penis, and looks exactly like a penis, not be a penis?

Is Beyond Meat meat? Is cubic zirconia a diamond? Is a pacemaker an SA node?

If a man had to cut off his dick due to an accident and got a neopenis, he is still a male but with a fake dick. If a trans man puts a neopenis, he's still biologically female with a fake dick. A neopenis is always a fake dick. What makes someone a man is their biology. That man HAD a dick. Trans man never had one.

Why would a trans man with this same neopenis not be a man and their neopenis not be considered a penis?

Because:

  • There are only two types of gametes involved in human reproduction-- sperm and ova. (If you have discovered a third type of gamete, please contact the press and collect your Nobel prize.)

  • There are, correspondingly, two sexes found in humans-- one that has a reproductive system corresponding to one type of gamete (sperm), and another that has a different reproductive system corresponding to the other type of gamete (ova).

  • The two sexes are called "male" (for humans with a reproductive system corresponding to sperm) and "female" (for humans with a reproductive system corresponding to ova).

  • Transmen are female, by definition-- they are female people who "identify as a man" or otherwise as not having the sex (male/female) that they have had from birth.

  • Attaching an external appendage to one's body, i.e. a "neopenis", does not change one's reproductive capacities. (edit: i.e. whether one has a reproductive system corresponding to one type of gamete, sperm, or the other, ova.)

Sometimes people ask, "Why are these discussions about man/woman so focused on reproductive capacities?!" and the grand answer is that it's because... biological sex is defined on the basis of reproduction (i.e. gametes).

You don't even have to do all this. You can just say "if breast implants can be considered real breasts, they why can't dick implants be considered real dicks?" And the answer is just as simple. Some people will consider them real, some will consider them fake, some will say 'eh, close enough' and some will say something else.

The problem is when some people try to force other people to accept the fake dick as real. There could be magic in this world, and a genie could literally turn a woman into a man with all the chromosomes and sperm and everything, and to me, she would still be a woman. You can't force people to change their minds.

Some people will consider them real, some will consider them fake, some will say 'eh, close enough' and some will say something else.

But the question is, despite what various people think, is neopenis a real penis, is a breast implant a real breast, etc? The answer to that is either yes or no, which one is it? Yes, some people would think a neopenis is a penis, but if it really is, then the people that force others to accept it is a real penis are right to do that because they'd just make people accept the truth.

But if a neopenis is not a real penis then the people that force others to think a neopenis is a real penis are wrong because they are selling a lie.

What other people think shouldn't matter, just like some people think they are the opposite sex trapped in their body, now are they right or wrong? The answer wouldn't depend on what other people think, there would be an objective answer, that doesn't depend on subjectivity.

This depends on your definition of what a "real penis" is. My definition of a "real penis" is a penis someone is born with, it could be healthy, or it could be deformed, at which point I suppose there would be a threshold. How deformed does it have to be before it stops being a "real penis" and becomes a "deformity", I don't know. I have a feeling it would be an "I know it when I see it" situation.

If someone else's definition of a "real penis" involves a surgical/medical/3D-copy/magic/whatever body part that somewhat looks and functions like a penis, then we will never agree. My definition and their definition are different. We would be arguing apples and oranges.

Yes, some people would think a neopenis is a penis, but if it really is, then the people that force others to accept it is a real penis are right to do that because they'd just make people accept the truth.

But if a neopenis is not a real penis then the people that force others to think a neopenis is a real penis are wrong because they are selling a lie.

This is where it becomes really sticky, because they wouldn't just be saying "My facts are the correct facts, and you must agree!" They would be saying "My definition is the correct definition, and you must agree with the conclusions that are based on my definitions!"

So, is your definition of a real penis the correct definition or are you claiming that definitions are subjective and people can define things however they want in which case one can define a woman to include a trans woman and a man to include a trans man and they would be just as correct as you who doesn't define a woman to include a trans woman and a man to include a trans man, and none of you would be able to force each other to accept each other's definitions because they are all subjective?

I think my definitions are the correct ones and that everyone who doesn't agree with me is stupid, ignorant and/or delusional.

I also understand that other people may feel the same way about their own opinions.

I believe that people need to sit down together and agree on universal definitions before a productive debate and mutual agreement can happen.

Once you show me a point where all men who lose their real penises tragically and have them replaced with neopenises that they cannot tell the difference between the old and new one, then I'll listen to you. But if a real man is still capable of missing his old member when a mockery has been sewn onto him, then it is not a real penis
