This just makes me want to call myself homosexual more often... it's certainly less offensive than queer, a word that literally means "odd/strange/other".

23:59 "Well, you might dislike the word queer but it's not a slur, it's been reclaimed. Lots of people identify as queer and you have to respect them."

00:00 "Yeah, the word homosexual is offensive, just because some gay people use it doesn't make it right. People who identify as it should use other words to call themselves."

I remain convinced that no one who claims “queer” has been reclaimed has ever actually had someone spit that word at them.

Clinical/formal? Yes. Outdated? No.

If anyone has grammarly, let us know if it does the same for "heterosexual"

I couldn't hold myself back, when Grammarly replied to them, I said something back. The term homosexual is only offensive to non-homosexuals. It is supposed to be specific and not an ever growin umbrella term

Who gives a shit what offends non-homosexuals?

You're right, it is critical we protect their feelings about how we're all abominations and hell-bound. Our existence is offensive enough, we should at the very least allow them to do what they wish to us

Like their right to pretend that their hate speech isn't hateful, that a morally neutral and technically accurate word is somehow offensive, and to fire us, deplatform us, harass us, bully us, and otherwise dehumanize us when we object to their linguistic chicanery.

Why do you use Grammarly? Read the fine print! It does its processing on their servers which means it records everything you type and sends it to them. Google only sees what you search for and what websites you're on. Grammarly sees everything you type: internet, documents, emails.

Words are not meant to be “inclusive.” Their whole purpose is to be exclusive. When I say “chair,” it excludes every object and idea in the universe that isn’t a chair. So maybe if I’m typing “homosexual,” I don’t mean a damn thing more than homosexual.

That's why the Queer Police don't want you to use "homosexual"- because it describes, very accurately, same SEX attraction, not same GENDER attraction. The genderists want to erase away the gay.

I use homosexual all the time now, since, in the age of two men LARPING as a lesbian couple and two women as a gay couple, "lesbian" and "gay" can't describe what I mean accurately anymore.

Oh, screw grammarly anyway. Me can Engrish my way around just fine without it. The last thing society needs is a program to homogenize language and crush out any individual style. I'd use whatever terms I want, since I usually need to be as descriptive and specific as possible with my prose and not just pointlessly "inclusive" in order to satisfy the narrow preferences of the exact type of person I don't even want to read it in the first place.

That whole paragraph is as vague af and includes weasel phrases like "Some readers". Who? Tumblrettes? "may prefer other terms" Do they? And what terms are those? The Kwir ones?

It's so bad it almost needs its own grammarly on top of it to offer obnoxious suggestions and corrections.
