Coming out to me meant giving a heads up to everyone that I was going to send them a wedding announcement one day - and the fiancée would be a woman. Didn’t want that to surprise anyone.

To me it doesn’t necessarily mean parading my sexuality on all my social media or being a full activist and marching in parades. And it also doesn’t mean I have to tell everyone I meet. My grandma doesn’t know because she would pray endlessly for me and I don’t want that for her.

For everyone else, it’s just a random fact that’s about the same as letting someone know whether I’d prefer to carry or adopt a child.
