In one of the comments:

Agendered Lesbian here. I love women in a queer/Sapphic way, no men involved.

What the fuck is loving women in a "queer/Sapphic way"? Also, I love the fact that she had to point out "no men involved". What the fuck, but that's obvious!

Users on "actuallesbians" think that being LGB is a lifestyle, an outlook on life, a philosophy... anything but an involuntary pattern of attraction.

Agender but identifies as a lesbian? What. I kid you not, I just witnessed an agender they/them and a fae/she/they getting offended over someone saying "bruh" on a discord server that I’m in. Bruh is too masculine for an agender person, but identifying as an agender lesbian is okay?

Agender but identifies as a lesbian?

Well, that would work if "woman" refers to a gender and "lesbian" refers to a sexual orientation (specifically, exclusive attraction to bona fide females), but the latter notion flies in the face of contemporary TRA dogma. I'm surprised they didn't get called out for it. I suppose it just goes to show that all they care about is rote affirmation of self-given identities, rather than ideological consistency.

They sound like mental health problems lol.

If she's so ashamed of being a woman that she has to call herself genderless, it's probably a safe bet that she's too ashamed to speak plainly about sex and attraction.

I just assume that’s coded language for they like to “muff” trans women’s ballsacks. It certainly is queer, isn’t it?!

I'm trying to work out what's going on here. I like women who have female bodies and anatomy who are not male. Are they females who are into males who are "feminised" or "effeminate"? Are they males who are into women and transgender women? People with really agp who are aware they're not women but want to be female in some way?

"I'm nonbinary. I'm more woman than man. Im absolutely 0% man."

This logic is so bad. Even if you follow it, it still doesn't make sense. If you think there's a third category, it can't simultaneously be another thing. You're also 0% woman if you are not a woman, by definition.

If gender and sexual orientation are so clearly divided that a person can easily have contradictory labels like this, then why is it bigoted to say that someone's gender identity doesn't fit in with your sexuality? No wonder TRAs are in such a combative shitty mood all the time, it takes work to refuse and ignore critical thinking like this.

[–]8bitgay 12 insightful - 3 fun12 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

It's really interesting, right? People can make gender identity and sexuality so malleable. Someone who is not a woman can identify as lesbian. At the same time, people can also make these labels very specific. So someone who is just a regular straight woman will claim she's actually she's actually a greysexual demiboy. Every definition is valid.

But the moment a guy says he's only into men with dicks, or a girl says she's only into women with vaginas? Oh no, that is unacceptable. For them the definitions of gay/lesbian aren't malleable enough to fit actual homosexual people, and there aren't specific labels to accomodate us because our sexuality isn't valid.

Because if you said you're not attracted to the male gender, then they'll come at you for not dating transbians, etc. There's no way to fight against broken logic.

Because they get shitty when people they want to have sex with don't want to have sex with them. Because most people aren't into whatever odd combination of sex features that they've developed and they don't want to accept that.

Some standout comments:

And yes, it is possible for an amab nonbinary person to identify as a lesbian

So the barrier to men entering lesbian spaces has been lowered even further: they don't even have to identify as women anymore!

maybe the dictionary definition for lesbian should expand a bit? Especially when considering the community aspect - I feel like the lesbian identity and community describe more than sexual attraction.

Rule 1 of trans ideology: every concept must be redefined in a way that it can be attained by even low-effort trans people.

in general i don’t like people saying they like people or don’t like people depending on what they were assigned at birth

Classic trans delusional rhetoric.

Words and terms are invented, fall out of favor, or are co-opted in the queer community so rapidly that its hard to get a read on what anything actually means.

Hit the nail on the head there. Although this person thinks it's 'cool.'

[Regarding being both non-binary and woman:] 'woman' has never felt like an accurate descriptor, but there are parts of my life that shaped who I am that are inextricably tied to being a woman (like nearly dying in childbirth)

This 'enby woman' is skirting dangerously close to TERF rhetoric there, saying that childbirth is inextricably tied to being a woman. Of all the things these TRAs say, this was the only comment on the page that genuinely surprised me.

I don’t know what’s more cringe—the actual message or posting a Bugs fuckin’ Bunny meme.

Remember, if you don't "identify" with your biological sex... then you're nonbinary and probably in denial about it! And if you're nonbinary and you could theoretically be attracted to someone who "identifies as" a woman, even if you never have been before... then you qualify as a lesbian! Welcome to gender identity ideology.
