I'm going to get really crazy and suggest that if your porn tastes are so disconnected from real life that you have to write an entire thinkpiece about convincing yourself that it's fine, then maybe you shouldn't be consuming it. Some people know that they can't have just one beer, some people know that hard drugs don't mix well with their family history, what exactly makes porn an idiotproof one-vice-fits-all?

This was my reaction exactly too. This porn addict doth protest too much. This isn’t the sign of a healthy mind, but a porn-fried one.

I think she's trying to justify getting off to gay men fucking while at the same time being into women. To her credit this is a bit of a paradox. I think the most unfortunate thing about it though is she thinks most lesbians are like this, and doesn't realise that her experience isn't what most lesbians out there experience. And now we're the assholes for saying that this is the case.

"I’m a bisexual woman and a c o o m e r."

Note that I don’t care if you watch porn occasionally. But if it affects your perception of reality, then you’re a c o o m e r.

My imaginary marine boyfriend will materialise out of nowhere some day. Then we’re getting married in Russia. 🤣

Someone whose mind has been so fried by porn that porn has become a centerpiece in their lives.

Lol. I get the concept of what she's saying, but, uh. Porn... Really?

I mean. As a teenager with lots of self-hatred and very few ways out of it, I was looking for a way to explore homosexuality without it ever implicating me, so I'd read fanfics with gay pairings. But nothing sexual. The day I discovered my sexuality was the day I started showing real interest in porn, still I don't consume it, because of my moral values, but I can't say I'm not feeling the urge sometimes. And I mean lesbian porn lol, I have never ever wanted to consume gay porn when I'm feeling horny... o_o that's just... counterproductive

To be honest, I wouldn't be very surprised if that woman is deeply traumatised. Most of my "coping mechanisms" (read: avoidance) regarding my sexuality/sexual urges are caused by trauma and shame.

When I was discovering my orientation - a process which took four years - I got to a point where I was reading lesbian fan fiction to justify my interest in the gay community without making me look gay. I never got into it, and I always ended up reading gay slash stories without sending reviews. I wished I never came across fan fiction net, because it affected my interest in television and books, but it did became an excuse when my parents asked me why I was so happy when Ireland legalised civil partnerships. Plus, it forced me to acknowledge that I have no interest in women.

Can you imagine this article written in reverse? Can you imagine a guy saying "I'm totally a straight man, but I can't help but spend my evening watching superhot gay porn tehehee". Everyone would be saying "repressed homosexuality". People would be talking about how he was oppressed into not admitting he's gay.

Modern society religious worships gayness, and it's driving people insane. These women aren't lesbians. They're afraid of being heterosexual because in the modern day liberal cult it would make them bland, or worst, one of the "oppressors". If you get only wet thinking about muscular sweaty dudes, you're not a lesbian. You're not even bisexual. If you don't even think sexually of other women you aren't even bisexual. You're a straight woman. These people think that their sexuality is a fucking hobby.

I keep hearing this excuse from women that porn for men is "violent" so they only watch sweaty musuclar gay dudes, as if gay porn has no dominance roleplay, that's complete fucking nonsense. You watch gay porn as a woman because it doesn't hurt your self esteem; its escapism. I notice that the same thing that leaps AGPs to worshipping lesbians can be seen here, they want to escape their bodies, their anxieties, and be in a world where they are perfect and sexual members of the opposite sex.

Denying heterosexuality is turning people into autohomoretoticists. These women need to accept they're attracted to men and that they should just hit the gym and go to a sport club look for the sweaty masculine guys they're attracted to to find a marriable partner; otherwise if they keep going down this rabbit hole many of them will be injecting testosterone in hopes they can turn their lives into gay-porn, just like "transbians" AGPs.

Bottom line the last thing actual lesbians would want is a straight woman who thinks being gay is a hobby and that will cuck them as soon as they realize a masculine man is available and not a pipe-dream.

I’m not into porn but if I had been into porn watching men having sex would be the most boring of porn. I don’t care much gay male love stories either as it’s hard to relate.

I’m quite unfazed by nudity and graphic sexual content in movies and TV series though, the sexual stuff seems so impersonal that it doesn’t come off as provoking, it's just bland like watching someone eat some pasta so I don’t really care, I just wait for the story to go on. But when a woman looks at another woman in a certain way in a scene, just one look, I sometimes feel all embarrassed and like I am watching the most risque thing ever, because to me that is not impersonal. I sometimes wonder if straight people watching straight stuff feel more of the former (desensitized as it's so common) or the latter (as they are straight so less impersonal to them).

I do believe that one's porn habits are not necessarily reflective of what they are into IRL. BUT, if there is a huge fucking gulf between your porn fantasies and your sexual orientation, and if you seem overly dependent on those porn fantasies to get off IRL, then you need to get off the Internet and cut out the porn, not write an article justifying your porn addiction.

It honestly took me until this year to realize how disturbed I am by the porn industry and its effect on people, and so I no longer watch any. People act like porn addiction and kinks are sacred protected classes. It's creepy af.

Watching male on male porn allowed me to feel safe and be sexual without addressing my distaste for cis hetero men and my nervousness around my attraction to women.

FinkNews is at it again with the mental gymnastics. 10 10 10

It's ok to say you are attracted to the opposite sex and straight males. I know that the kwirdom generally looks down on that blasphemy. But this is the kind of self-deception that does a disservice to real homosexuals.

i don't see how this is surprising at all lol
