It’s everywhere. Even on subs that have absolutely nothing to do with this crap I’ve seen people post random tRaNs RiGhTs!!!!! images and if you point out it’s irrelevance you’ll be attacked for ‘transphobia’

I saw it on a fandom sub a few weeks ago... It was an art which showed a character being trans (canonically they aren't). Technically nothing wrong about it but at the same time I never saw art showing them as gay or bi.

They want to be the center of attention. I'd also reckon that some do this for the thrill of telling people they're transphobic if they say that these posts don't belong in the sub. I'm actually very surprised that r/bisexual is only now being targeted.

It's similar to something someone else mentioned before: If sci-fi fans of Star Wars and Star Trek started posting in magical fantasy subs like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Avatar the Last Air Bender you'd expect those posts to be taken down as per the subs' rules. However, instead of taking down those posts, the mods say, "Sci-fi content is welcome here". So now eveyone who says, "This isn't the sub for that content," gets banned for being insensetive to the feelings of sci-fi people.

They're able to take over specific groups so easily because they're following a very simple method: divide and conquer. You have group A (the T's) and group B (The LGB's). The loudest of group A have convinced the loudest of group B that group A's feelings and experiences are more important than everyone else's. Now you have a bigger group AB trying to convince the rest of B that A is more important. More divides, more splits, more fractures, until eventually group B becomes so small that group AB is able to convince other's that anyone left in group B is evil. Which leads us to where we are now, exiled to Saidit.

It's not so bad though. I quite like the level-headedness of the community here. It's like a very refreshing oasis where my mind doesn't have to jump through so many hoops to try and make sense out of what people say. You're actually able to ask questions and learn things here (things that follow logic) without being attacked for not knowing or not understanding something. We don't all agree on everything and that is how we're able to have civil discourse. Intellectual diversity seems to be valued a lot more by the people here than by most people on reddit.

There isn't much to be done about reclaiming subs on reddit. Unless mods change, nothing will work. Something that might work though is if we all go out of our way to politely and civily state our opinions and the facts that support those opinions. This will create waves and anger some people but, this tactic is for the benefit of fence sitters or lurkers who have only ever been exposed to one side of this gender debate.

I wonder who these mods are. What compels a person to spend so much time, without compensation, supposedly, to "moderate" a subreddit? Especially those subreddits that need a lot of work and hand-holding. I really don't think the mods are going to give it up, for whatever they're getting out of it.

This just might be one of those situations where it just needs a little bit more rope to adequately hang itself with.

I'm sure they're not all this dodgy, but here you go. https://grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/ashton-challenor-the-boy-who-disappeared I think two things are a problem. 1. Whilst I don't have a problem with these sorts of fetishes at all, I wouldn't think it appropriate that they moderate a forum where large numbers of young people are visiting to talk about sex and gender. 2. I suspect that their political goals have been adopted because they give them easier access of sex, or make it easier for them to have the sex they want to have.

Big inhale. Long sigh. Thanks for sharing this. I was thinking more charitably about Reddit /r/lgbt etc mods prior to this. Trying not to throw the baby out with the bathwater...

Lot to digest there. Significant indication of chronophilias, both ends of the subjectivity dimension. That's the one that sets off my alarm bells. Furry? Masochism? I care not.

Certainly, the best people to moderate /r/lgbt etc are your basic LGB folk. I do see same-sex attraction in a fair number of well-adjusted paraphiles, but it is of a different nature, has a different trajectory, and should be dealt with separately.

I'm trying to put me finger on why I'm deeply uncomfortable with those mods. In the blog post there is that part where the one they're married to defends talking to a 13 year old girl about masturbation. I had a sneak through nekosune's post history and they post a question asking about how they can buy hormones for a you transgirl. There was also a link to an article where Challenor is advocating for schools not to tell parents that their child is transitioning. These actions look like red flags to me, they fit a pattern of grooming behaviours— talking to kids about sexuality and gender, teaching them what to think about those things and molding their identity, splitting those kids off from their support network.... These are all things you see in the trans community in various forms too.

I don't know, maybe I'm being paranoid and I'm just yelling into the void here. But I wonder what they might be doing on an alt account, or what sort of behaviour they wouldn't stop in those communities. There seems to be a lack of understanding about having boundaries around children.

How do you mean? I'm neutral to the idea of paraphilias and don't really know much about them (beyond the AGP types lol).

Well, the paraphilias are all unique. It's that "other" category, after all.

Let's look at sexual orientation identity in furries (yes, this is an erotic phenomena.)

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10508-018-1303-7 A large majority of our sample reported non-heterosexual identities (84%) and some degree of sexual motivation for being furries (99%).

Some community work on orientation:

https://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Sexual_orientation#Sexual_orientation_and_furry

https://adjectivespecies.com/2015/08/24/furry-demographics/

Certainly, most bisexual and gay men are not furries. Being same-sex attracted does not make one a furry. But why are non-heterosexual orientation identities overwhelmingly over-represented in furries? Why does it work the other way around?

In short, it's because they have a sexual interest that, to varying individual degrees, disregards the sex binary. Most people are exclusively on the sex binary axis of attraction--man, woman, or both. Furries are playing by a somewhat different set of rules. That's not to say that they can't or won't have meaningful, long-term same-sex relationships outside of their fandom or fursona (fur persona.) They don't turn straight when they take off their fursuit. But they're not gay or bisexual like most people are gay or bisexual. There's room for them in LGB, IMHO. For those that are same-sex attracted, they are subject to prejudices on that account, and homophobes don't check receipts and what you do in private is your business, and all that. All I'd ask, and this is a universal sentiment, is that they keep it to their proverbial bedroom, and that they also recognize, understand, and respect their differences when interacting with LGB at large. Stay on topic, more or less, irrespective of how you arrived.

Oh my god. I did NOT realize that Nekosune, one of the people in this article, was the very same one modding r/actuallesbians!!! What the FUCK!

This person is an actual pedophile! Like holy cow. Talk about grooming behavior! This is the very same sub where young teenagers hang out. How has this not made it to law enforcement?? This is crazy!

Challenor covered for and defended his pedo cross-dressing Dad raping his cousin in the attic of their shared, tiny flat (after he was arrested) then helped him gain access to vulnerable children through charity work. I'm not giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Nothing else to do, and a whole lot of power in the moderating community. I'm still waiting on Spez or other top reddit admin to declare themselves a wimin.

Lol, that would be the most 2020-2021 thing ever.

Totally agree. Made me smile while reading this, because it's true to my experience as well and I'm glad this place exists.

Also great comment. This is a good summary of how minority groups get silenced.

Couldn't have said it better. Thank you!

Can someone tell me what on a subreddit specifically for bisexuals there are trending memes about trans people?

Because it's reddit, everything must include trans people in their eyes. I found trans related topics EVERYWHERE. Whether is was for DnD subreddits, curly hair, makeup, xxfitness, etc. Had to at least mention a trans person once a day at the LEAST.

Just wanted to clarify, being bisexual doesn't mean we're attracted to trans people -- that's a small minority(which I coined the term "Trans Inclusive Bisexuals", TIBs to describe them). I hate that often times people lump us in with the TQ+(ex. My psycho " pansexual" coworker was a TQ+ harpy and assumed I was one. Also some GC people think we're TQ+ too...). It's getting old and annoying.

I'm not attracted to someone who mutilated their gentals received sex reassignment surgery to get a "neo-penis" or "neo-vagina". It doesn't seem appealing to me at all. Not to mention the T has some type of internalized misogyny/misandry(I know, buzzwords).

I speak from experience since I detransitioned and had extreme gender dysphoria...Wouldn't want to date a trans person who had those issues and didn't accept themselves for who they are.

OP, come see us at s/bisexuals if you would like some sanity. We're still a bit small but we're doing better at keeping active! :)

You just showed me that s/bisexuals exist. Thank you. I've just been sadly lurking on s/lesbians

There's being "inclusive" and straight-up forgetting what the sub is about and yeah, defending people who are not attracted to trans people is the whole reason I'm here, you can imagine what things I've been called for simply and respectfully stating facts. I'm sorry to hear you're detrans, that experience must have been difficult and the trans community isn't helping with that. I'll definitely go check out s/bisexuals now :)

TRAs and AHS couldn't get the gay male subs banned so they're playing social games with bisexuals now. They'll post trans content 24/7 until someone says "this is off-topic," then scream about how they're being bullied.

[–]Rosefield 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Because everything has to be trans centric.

You mean like this post? Are there others as well? https://www.reddit.com/r/bisexual/comments/kxsyck/no_one_expects_you_to_remember_it_right_away_but/

How'd they take over a space so specific?

Perhaps they got tired of harassing lesbian women and gay men and decided to share the love to our bisexual siblings. 🙄

Sorry to hear your spaces are getting taken over as well.

[–]wafflegaffWoman. SuperBi. 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Well you know...roaches, bedbugs...ants...cancer...gas fumes...smoke...fart spray...these all take over spaces rather indiscriminately because they can. Nothing is stopping them, so they just keep going.

https://www.reddit.com/r/truebisexuals

exists but you need an invite. I'm not sure about its trans content these days because I'm not a member, but you should DM the mods and ask.
