If a cis man wants to assault women in public bathrooms he can just... walk in.

But now with self ID, women aren’t allowed to feel uncomfortable or threatened and wouldn’t be able to kick him out until it’s too late. They really prioritize predatory AGP’s feelings over women’s safety.

no, now men are being given permission to enter women's bathrooms by the government. before, if you saw a man walk into a woman's restroom you would call the manager or a security guard to get him out, now if a man walks into a woman's bathroom you can't say anything or you'll be labeled a bigot.

Except an awful lot of women's loos are policed, in business premises by staff who'll come running when they hear a scream.

As I am getting a bit sick of pointing out, we've already had one very nasty sexual assault on a little girl by a transwoman as a result of this.

Dolatowski then returned to the toilets alone on a pretext and filmed the 12 year old child by holding a mobile phone over the cubicle partition.

Incident two:

The court was told a 10-year-old girl had been inside the toilets while her father waited outside. He heard his daughter screaming and she then came running out of the bathroom saying that “a crazy man with long hair was in the bathroom and had grabbed her face and pushed her into a cubicle, before demanding she take her trousers off.”

Five years ago and the cops would have been called when he was seen entering the loos.

Going by this argument, why even have gendered bathrooms? You're just blocking non-rapist men from entering, while according to them the rapist men can easily just walk in. Might as well make all the bathrooms gender neutral.

I've been invited by female friends to use the female bathroom, as a gay guy. I mean, it's nice they see me as a non-threat, but I don't wanna make things awkward for the other women that will use the same bathroom. Even then, it's not like I'm always 100% comfortable in male bathrooms. Growing up gay for me meant years of being uncomfortable of going to the male bathroom at school, having to share it with homophobic straight classmates. It's not nice being alone and vulnerable in a small space overhearing people next to you saying homophobic slurs.

I remember a popular transwoman influencer from my country telling the story of how once she had to block gay men from entering the female dressing room at the store she works. It was kinda funny to see her telling the story, and how she instantly assumed they were cis gay men, and instantly turned to blaming all cis gay men. They only interacted for a couple minutes and somehow she found out their gender identity and sexuality! What if they were non-binary, or bi, or even transmen? I love how they always say that transmen look exactly like cis men, but whenever something "problematic" happens they always know it's a cis person. They might not admit it, but they know that in the huge majority of cases it's easy to tell if someone is cis or not.

This comment isn't to say that bathrooms should all be gender neutral, or that gay men should be allowed in female bathrooms. It's just to point out the double standard in their arguments.

I love how they always say that transmen look exactly like cis men, but whenever something "problematic" happens they always know it's a cis person. They might not admit it, but they know that in the huge majority of cases it's easy to tell if someone is cis or not.

It's often not even about "trans women" doing the assaults. It's about letting predatory men into women's spaces - many of whom are cis. Once we get into the territory of gender neutral restrooms/locker rooms, or we get into self ID, then quite literally any man can walk into a women's bathroom and no one will be able to argue that he doesn't belong there. It has nothing to do with transitioning.

The difference is that in a world where males can't go into the women's restroom AT ALL, then people take notice/know he definitely isn't supposed to be in there/believe that you really were assaulted because why else would a man go into the women's restroom? Obviously something's up. Whereas in a world where males ARE allowed to go in, well then there's no issue here so how do we know he's going in there to hurt someone...? How do we know he really did anything? Maybe he just went in there to pee.
