It was a sweet post, I was happy to see it too. But the reactions... Tomboy lesbian: I feel comfortable with being a masculine woman. TRAs: This is hate speech!

But then some of them seem to think just mentioning vulvas on a LESBIAN sub is 'a bit terfy'. I hope biological lesbians can fly under the radar, it's really kicking off now and it's so appearent that it's needed.

I am not a lesbian but I am a tomboy too and I also feel really uneasy how many people like me stop seeing themselves as women, change pronouns, their names and even go for HRT. I am certain they'd never think of it if they weren't exposed to this TRA stuff so heavily. It's present everywhere even if you don't look for it.

I completely relate. "Queer theory" is all about othering anyone who does not fit into societal sex roles and expectations. I do not want to be othered, TRAs think being "not normal" is cool, but I just want to be me lol, not different.

It seems like a modern-day witch hunt. "TERF" is the new "witch" and "transphobia" is the new accusation of "witchcraft".

It's quite sad really. This is like the story "the boy who cried wolf". If they keep calling everyone transphobic, at some point people will become desensitised and will be less inclined to believe them when something that's actually transphobic happens.

There is/was a sub dedicated to actual "rape fetish", but I never see anyone talk about it or forbid it. There are racist and actually homophobic subs like "white boy extinction" which is a sub dedicated for white effeminate males being raped by black males & the implication that white men are too unmanly to be heterosexual/have kids and thus "go extinct." It's racist both ways because it portrays white males as sex objects and black males as animalistic sex obsessed beasts. There are disgusting subs like "FTM punished" where it's ENCOURAGED to "misgender" FTMs and make comments about how they'll always be female and thus are sex/breeding objects. I don't believe "misgendering" is a problem but that is a disgusting sub, it's extremely sexist and it obviously preys on young insecure women with issues, a lot of the FTM posters seem to be in their late teens/20s.

You'd think that TRAs and SJWs would care a lot about that since they claim to be so passionately against racism, transphobia, homophobia, and injustice in general - but suddenly when it's the NSFW subs, their "injustice" alarm switches off and they don't care about it. I guess their mentality of what is offensive gets overwritten by the SJW "Porn is good and healthy, if you criticize it at all you're a kinkshaming whorephobe" mentality.

If it's advertised as such, it wouldn't work. But sure, there are tons of NSFW subs for homosexual men out there that have no trans content at all. They don't explicitly say "this sub is for cis men only", but that's the content that you see. I'd say that most of them work this way.

They are much smaller than a sub like AskGaybros though, so maybe that's why nobody complains about the lack of female genitals.

r/detrans - purportedly a support group for people who transitioned and then detransitioned. In reality a TERF hive, a place for a small group of anti-trans detrans people to spread hatred agrainst trans people & transition (similar to how "ex-gays" act about gay people,) and a place where all transphobic posts are highly upvoted. Admins are already familiar with this one, and briefly banned it a few months ago - should've stayed that way. The new active mod tries to barely toe the line as to not get banned - but the comments are filled to the brim with transphobia and pseudoscience.

I looked at it a few times. They are almost all detransitioned people.

This of course triggers the fuck out if the activists, because no one is supposed to do this.

A lot of them are also super open about their autogynephillia, another massive no no.

It's funny when they compare situations that aren't comparable at all.

Most "ex-gays" are just gay/bi men peer pressured into trying to fit heterosexuality. If you're an actual straight man who was confused about your sexuality once and thought you weren't straight, then well, you don't need to do anything about it. The only thing you'd need to do if you realize you're straight is stop dating men, lol. It's just an issue of saying "I wasn't sure about my sexuality but now I figured out I'm straight".

Meanwhile if you realize you're not trans, that might happen after you already took hormones, or legally changed your name, or even had surgeries done. If this is your situation, there are many issues that might happen during this process, and talking with people that went through a similar situation might help.

The way that person writes is super scummy in a way I can't articulate. He/She implies that there's nothing wrong with people who so happen to make those choices, it's just that particular dirty rotten subreddit that has problems... But it's a load of shit. There will always be an excuse to write off the whole thing, and if there isn't an excuse someone equally manipulative will come along and make one happen. Why the hell is it when a radfem-adjacent sub gets banned, it's for "transphobia", and not the countless other actually hateful shit posted on there? Seriously, this "against hate subreddits" and other TRAs alike NEVER comment on the other issues, despite TRAs claiming to be anti-discrimination in many ways elsewhere. Take for example ableism; radfem subs are full of it, TRAs claim to give many shits about it, but I never ever see TRAs calling them out for that. I'm willing to bet that, if radfems didn't care about transgenderism at all and the subs were exactly the same except there was no mention of trans ever, they'd be allowed to stay no matter how hateful they got. This is hardly a new concept though, because Reddit has allowed some really disgusting subs stay for a long time or even are still up, solely because they were attacking groups that nobody gives two shits about.

See, this is how you know who is an actual minority and group that's targeted by real hate. Those who are actually oppressed rarely have people sticking up for them, and sites like Reddit will be fine harboring communities dedicated to trash talking them. You even so much as express mild disinterest in a trans person and you're silenced, banned, censored, etc. Trans people aren't oppressed, they have big companies backing them and an internet angry mob to start mass drama if they feel offended.

I am, obviously, against banning subs and silencing people for "transphobia" because it's not really a thing, and having a place focused on homosexuality or female issues is not even close to hateful. However I think the Reddit admins are all too willing to let actually hateful subs with no productive discussion remain, as long as they don't target the profitable trendy groups, like transgender people. GenderCritical and similar subs should have absolutely been banned, hell they should've been banned years ago, but not for the reasons they did ban it.

Also equating any female-focused sub to GC/TERFs is pretty fucking nasty. That's like me saying subs like AskMen or AskGayBros are woman-hating violent incel subs because they're male only. The fuck.

They think r/BiologicalLesbians, a tiny sub with like 500 people who are supportive of trans people but just want their own space, is a hate sub; but don't give a fuck about r/lesbians which is a disgusting porn fetish sub. r/detrans is about as transphobic as r/trans it's just people talking about their own personal experiences. A ban of r/detrans would be silencing detrans voices, which seems more like a political move rather than addressing hate.
