Translation: men being men is pushing women out of spaces for men.

As a more serious comment: the comment section is great. They call out the author for having no real understanding of how men interact and also for trying to control how other people have fun, very refreshing.

Don’t want Slate to make any more money than they can lol

Not at all concerned about Slate making money, just adding an archive for an interesting comment thread.

My heart bleeds for you. Bleeds sarcasm. Welcome to reality - as it would have it, we actually are men. All the way down, naturally occurring testosterone levels and all.

I enjoy spending time with cisgender men whether they’re straight and masculine like I am, or queer, gay, or bisexual.

Is this woman implying that being masculine and being same-sex attracted are mutually exclusive? So she’s a homophobe in addition to being a misandrist. No, male spaces are for men and boys only. Just like how female spaces are for women and girls only. She needs to work on her internalised homophobia before telling men what to do in our own spaces.

Its not 'fragile masculinity' that's pushing trans people out of spaces, its trans narcissism. Trans people go into these spaces and demand everything be centered on their 'identity', it doesn't matter what the group was originally about, men, women, cooking, sports, comic books, films they always shove the trans issue down peoples throats and demand constant validation and ass kissing. People get tired of that shit and either fight back or the entire group eventually crumbles into a echo chamber as most people migrate to other groups where thi narcissim doesnt take centre stage. Mens groups are just better at saying fuck off than womens I'm sad to say.

Pretty much. Compare Reddit to Facebook. On Facebook everytime you interact with someone you see their picture. A photo already tells you a lot about a person, and a profile might tell more. Even the name of a person can tell you something about their ethnic background.

But on Reddit you're just looking to usernames. Most people don't post pictures. On most subs you can't know the average user's race, gender, age, country of origin, etc.

Once in a while I see comments on subs like Gaybros made by women and straight guys. People who are in no way gay men (not even in the TQ+ way) but are there because it's not like the other users are gonna track down every new user of the sub to check if it's a real gay men. If transpeople just wanted to take part of discussions in gay/lesbian subs, they could be part of the conversation without others even noticing it.

It only became an issue because they decided that they didn't want to be part of the conversation that gay men and lesbian women were having. They wanted to talk about themselves, their issues, their bodies and their genitals.

For real! I'm now part of several private FB groups that are either GC or just make fun of TRA lunacy, let me tell you its like an oasis in a desert of shit when you see people from all walks of life, LGBT and straight see the insane movement for what it is and not be constantly language policed about it.

Perhaps this person regurgitates their thousand word Slate article to the blokes at the pub and wonders why they aren't considered one of the guys. Generally speaking men do have a high tolerance, nay, desire, for information that isn't all that interesting, but not this. Watch some Joe Rogan videos. How much could a chimp bench press if it worked out? How would we live on Mars? What's the most efficient way to erect shelves, etc.
