Am I the only one kind of irked by that comment thread about the guy saying he wishes to be female but isn't trans, and someone replied with "well if you were a bottom it'd be good because you'd have a bigger dating pool"?

That's a shitty mindset, and one that's unfortunately not new. There's a big difference between being a homosexual male "bottom" & being female. Like, a world of difference. I'm mostly a bottom too but I don't want to deal with periods & I like having a dick, so, no thanks.

I probably would have been pressured to be trans if I was younger. I've never been masculine and even today I find myself thinking that I want to be "socially female" or seen as "less than male" for both personal preference reasons and because I feel like people would accept me more. Fortunately I think I always knew "sex changes" weren't real, I'm not sure how. Maybe I got curious and googled it only to find a lengthy explanation of the process, haha.

Also, waiting for inevitable TRA brigade in 3, 2, 1...

I’ve never wanted to be a girl. I did have interest in playing with girls' toys, but I still had more interest in boys' toys. Every Christmas I wanted something from Hot Wheels, and for three years I wanted Matchbox toys for my birthday. I’ll admit that I was a bit of a weird kid, but mostly because I preferred to hangout with people older than me or younger than me as opposed to children my age. Most of my friends were boys when I grew up. When I was 5, I wanted to be a policemen. Then I wanted to be an astronaut. Then I wanted to be a builder. Then a scientist.

I did become a little more feminine in my adolescence, then again, it was mostly because I was trying to cope with my disability and my poor athleticism. As soon as I came out as gay, I became more confident in myself. I stopped letting my disability hold me back, accepted my limitations and became significantly more masculine. So I got into sports, started going to the gym, asked for weights for Christmas and took up karate lessons. But even being slightly effeminate would get a hardcore lefty parent or teacher to try and convince a boy that he’s actually a girl nowadays. This shit is insidious.

AskGayBros is a fairly dogshit subreddit, but I will always give credit where credit is due. At least they are one of the only subs on Reddit that occasionally put their feet down and say no to TRAs.

I'm pleasantly surprised by how civil the thread is. I'm probably the most combative commenter on there and I'm not saying anything that controversial lol.

There’s one guy saying puberty blockers are ok for cis kids? I hadn’t heard that.

They're not ok for cis kids. That's a lie TRAs like to feed people. The cis kids they gave it to in the 90s are all suffering from bone disease.

Nope Lots of health problems for women who were on it for precocious puberty.

Are they like, "hey, you should become dysphoric about your gender and change your sex!"

I mean... how tf does someone advise a person whos happy with their assigned gender to transition? And why?

Heh, this is kinda funny. The community changed a lot in a few years and some people didn't get the memo. I saw a friend of a friend making a similar point about dysphoria a few days ago.

Someone should tell the guy that no, dysphoria has nothing to do with it nowadays, so you don't need to convince someone that they're dysphoric to say they're trans. If you point out that they don't have dysphoria that'd be transphobic and a truscum view.

By the way, I wonder what these "support all trans people" guys would say if you asked them if they support truscums too...

There's a difference between trans women having body dysphoria and a child who likes to play dress up :/

Dysphoria again... Funny how dysphoria is useful to their argument now.

You can’t speak on trans and how we transition if you aren’t one.

Your experience isn't remotely the experience of actual transgender children. This is concern trolling at it's absolute worst

It's funny because OP wasn't even talking about trans people. His point was about how gay people might be pressured. But I guess to them things are only an issue in how they might affect transpeople, so if it doesn't affect them the issue doesn't exist.

How are you supposed to know you're trans if non-trans people can never know what it's like? Is this just some magic that resides deep within them that is beyond the knowledge of mere cis mortals such as us???
