It is extremely odd how Ireland went from being one of the most conservative countries in Europe (and not just Western Europe) to one of the most woke. But I have some explanations why. First and foremost, Ireland is an English-speaking country. Most of the media we consume comes from Britain and America, where woke culture is pervasive and domineering in everyday life. Irish people are being conditioned into thinking that this is normal. There’s also the fact that our institutions are trying to distance our country away from our conservative past. Yes, we did have problems. Divorce was illegal, male homosexuality was illegal, unmarried mothers and widowed fathers had their children kidnapped by the state to support an international adoption industry, unmarried mothers were also locked up in institutions because their communities abandoned them, teachers were beating the shit out of children, the economy was a disaster, people were poor as fuck, censorship was pervasive and paedophiles were joining the priesthood. All those things were horrible and shameful. But the people who control this country are descendants of the people who used to run this country back when these problems were still there. So woke culture is now being used to give Irish people the illusion that we’ve changed. Except that the only thing that has changed is the form of abuse that is being put upon us as a nation. Nowadays, people don’t know their neighbours, people don’t see their cousins that much, people are medicated on drugs, everything is expensive, we have very little free time, schools give tons of homework, communities are destroyed, materialism and consumerism are the new religions and alcoholism has actually gotten worse. The last time Irish society thrived was before Oliver Cromwell came to power.

However, thanks to the lockdowns, people are beginning to wake up.
