I’ve never heard of this happening. Then again, I don’t live in Portland or Vancouver.

My social media profiles indicate my sex as male. That’s all they need to know. If that’s not enough for them to figure out what my pronouns are, then I have no time for them. I’d probably just list my pronouns as something they’d find triggering, but I don’t want to destroy my chances of getting a job.

It is happening on most of the social media. The inclusivity trainings of companies are telling their employees to put their pronouns on the LinkedIn bio's or you are a transphobe.

I believe it’s being encouraged at companies but not dictated (at least in the U.S.). If anyone is not being given a choice, I’d like to hear from them. The voluntariness is actually helpful because it shows us who is down the rabbit hole on this and who we should, therefore, be careful around. In especially woke spaces this is a good way of sussing out who may be like-minded with you on this issue. One of the diversity coordinators at my job has pronouns in her actual email handle so it’s “First Name (Pronouns) Last Name”< name@company.com >. It looks absolutely deranged when I see emails from her in my inbox. I looked up her resume and it’s all woke bullshit and not like the helpful non-profit kind. She also appears to have no affiliation herself with the Alphabet Soup Gang.

At my work, posting your pronouns is not mandated but I was peer pressured into introducing myself with pronouns at an introductory event. It made me deeply uncomfortable but like, I need this job, lol, and I'd really like for people to not hate me right off the bat.

Which country/state/province do you live in, so I can avoid getting a job there?

That’s disgraceful. And disturbing.
