Literally "brokeback" because HRT gives you weak bones, lol

HRT gives you weak bones

Wait, it does? I thought estrogen used to be prescribed to post-menopausal women to try to stave off osteoporosis before they stopped doing that cause of cancer risk

I have no idea if that's true, but if so, it's probably just that male bodies will react differently to exogenous hormones that their body never produced in that quantity naturally and that their bodies are not supposed to either. Plus men are starting with much greater bone density, so even when their bone density diminishes on estrogen, it's still way greater than women's.

I think Salty is referring to Lupron, which is indeed associated with bone damage:

https://khn.org/news/women-fear-drug-they-used-to-halt-puberty-led-to-health-problems/

Not sure about other specific HRT-related drugs but I'm sure they have other side effects if not this specific one.

Would like the NYT or a bigger news outlet to get more cover to these stories... the amount of corruption going on is outrageous, with doctors being paid to give Lupron when it causes all these other health problems.

IMO, the grip of the pharmaceutical lobby on the U.S. is way too strong (like why are the Republicans and Trump so silent about transing kids? It's everything they warned against with gay rights!). In reality, the pharmaceutical lobby covers both Republicans and Democrats. So IMO, our only hope is to rely on the evidence turned up in the UK's investigations and then use that for a class action in the U.S. I mean theoretically, there could be a class action in the U.S. now if the idea was shopped around to the right firm, but I think it might be too taboo right now. Med mal plaintiffs' attorneys want to position themselves as the good guy champions of the people. They will have to deal with a lot of threats and public scrutiny that they may be painfully aware of and that are holding them back. That's why I think evidence from the UK can be helpful in convincing an American firm to take the case.

Now THAT is a good question. True colors, I guess. The religious right doesn't actually care about children, it was just an excuse to be a bunch of bigots.

I am really hopeful about stuff turning around in the U.K. I kind of wonder if the next couple years will be the start of a reckoning. It's so frustrating watching the whole world be asleep to gender ideology while it wreaks havoc on a generation.... but I think 2020 might go down as the year when this shit started to hit the fan, thanks to JKR and that court case.

If there were a class action lawsuit, would that only be applicable to people who had been through medical interventions/HRT? I am not really versed in law stuff, haha.

There can and will be multiple class action lawsuits. Like nothing we've ever seen before. So it's just a matter of which plaintiffs are bringing which lawsuits against which entities/individuals. One of the major hurdles of getting through a class action is establishing that the members of the class are sufficiently similar enough in their interests and the harm they suffered in order to proceed as a class. So I imagine there would be class actions that go after different players, some within the same suit, but different targets include: individual doctors/health care providers/surgeons, pharmaceutical companies, gender clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, school districts, LGBT organizations, maybe even the FDA, possibly health insurance companies, etc.

It's often a matter of finding the right plaintiffs against the right defendants in the right jurisdiction to get the best chance. But yea I imagine lawsuits against surgeons who perform gender reassignment surgery. They may go after the worst of the worst in terms of quality of surgery first to establish good precedent. There is some abysmal work being performed out there because it brings in $$$ and is not being monitored or scrutinized.

Class actions are really slow though (like, expect over a decade of this). That's why they tend to settle, and we wouldn't want a settlement before discovery. Oh also, this wouldn't be a class action, but kids suing parents is going to be a thing. We may have to wait a while for this though and I feel so awful for all of the harm that will be suffered by these kids in the meantime and the feelings they will feel as they try to make sense of and salvage their lives. I am waiting to see what happens with Jazz Jennings because even though Jazz is touted as a success story, Jazz's surgeries have been profoundly unsuccessful. Jazz also has the face of a little boy on what appears to be a grown woman's body. How is that going to age? Jazz is still SO young. I really don't think we've seen the depths of Jazz's tragedy.

Totally makes sense. But I think even just having the ball rolling will help bring discussion to the media, and perhaps get at least some people to start opening their eyes. I can't wait to see a day where people are ok with LGB and only a minority of people who really need to identify as trans (because of dysphoria). Might need to wait for a lot of the dust to settle, first, though..

Oh also, this wouldn't be a class action, but kids suing parents is going to be a thing.

Oh god, absolutely. I haven't heard about Jazz but that sounds extreme.

Thanks for the run-down! I'll keep those thoughts in mind when reading about any court cases.

For LGBs to save face, we will need to be en masse among the first vocal whistleblowers that break through. Otherwise, we are going to get blamed. Honestly, JK Rowling's messaging will be helpful as she positions gay people, especially lesbians, as victims in this.

I have been saying for a few years now that the only people who can stop Trans, Inc. are LGB, and perhaps straight men.

Trans, Inc., has used LGB as its sword and shield, so well-meaning people are scared to criticize TQ+ actions, so only LBG can push back.

The US media has its eyes open. The Kelsey Coalition, a non-partisan parents group that has since disbanded, talked to all sorts of media, and almost none of the interviews were ever used.

The US media is bought off by Big Pharma/ the Medical Industrial Complex and T (formerly gay) organizations, plus the billionaires pumping $$$ into Trans, Inc.
